A good bronzer is a part of makeup that makes a difference. Using bronzer makes you look more awake, healthier and well-rested. The power of bronzer is very unique – it’s like a sun in a compact. I didn’t realize it until a year ago and haven’t parted with my bronzers ever since. Even though I have quite a few bronzers in my current makeup collection – it is still an area of makeup for me to explore. There isn’t a single bronzer that has already become my personal must-have but I have a few that I truly love.
One of the best powder bronzers I’ve tried is the NARS Bronzing Powder in Laguna (a limited edition compact is featured above, reviewed here) that is a member of the NARS permanent collection. I think that I could name it a makeup staple of mine because I do use it way more often than all of my other bronzers, but there are other bronzers in my makeup collection that are very strong competitors to it. It has beautiful caramel/terra-cotta shade with neutral undertones and finely milled golden shimmer that instantly adds a luminous healthy touch to your makeup.
But it has a very close rival – I really enjoy using the KIKO Milano Outdoor Bronzer, that was limited edition, unfortunately. I hope it will be re-promoted again, because it has a beautiful terra-cotta brown shade and a stunning satiny matte finish that looks especially good with matte foundations. It is easy to apply and to blend and looks very natural on the skin.
Another huge favorite of mine is the Make Up For Ever Pro Bronze Fusion Bronzer (reviewed here). It has a very unique formula, that is somewhat in-between gel and powder that makes it apply very evenly and the result looks very skin-like and natural. The shade of it (Soft Iridescent Amber) is an amazing match to my skin’s cool undertones.
An honorable mention also goes to Clarins Aquatic Treasures Summer Bronzing Compact (limited edition, 2015 / reviewed here) and to The Body Shop Honey Bronze Bronzing Powder (reviewed here). I strongly advise to look up for the Clarins bronzing powders that get released each summer as the formula of these bronzers is perfection! These bronzers usually have several shades mixed together and as a result you can vary color intensity and finishes. The Body Shop Bronzer have an option for those with very fair skin tones, have a beautiful matte finish and come in color-appropriate, tan-like shades.
If you are struggling for a sun-kissed, healthy and bronzy look – a very good bronzer is your solution. Sometimes I can skip a blush and a highlighter and still look perfect with a bit of bronzer on my face. And you can also use your bronzer as an eyeshadow, as a crease shade for example!
