Sleek MakeUP Highlighting Palettes have been making such a buzz in the beauty community lately. And for a very good reason – these palettes have a very affordable price, amazing quality and gorgeous colors! I’ve already tried all three of the available palettes and can’t wait to see what Sleek comes up with next.
The first palette released by the brand was the Precious Metals highlighting palette (reviewed here) that featured three cream to powder highlighters and one powder highlighter of very wearable gold, champagne and bronze colors. The Solstice highlighting palette (reviewed here) made Sleek highlighters very well-known among beauty-lovers and is my personal favorite highlighting palette up to date. It contains three amazing powder highlighters and a gorgeous cream highlighter of rose gold and peachy pink colors. If you love highlighters – these palettes are a must!
Sleek MakeUP Midas Touch Highlighting Palette ($12.49) – Steal the spotlight and embrace the glitz and glamour of the party season with our Limited Edition 24 Karat Gold Collection. This face and body highlighting palette is loaded with sparkle, perfect for the festive season. Includes three baked powders and one luxurious cream formula. The shimmery, glittery and iridescent finishes add a radiant glow to the skin
Sleek MakeUP Midas Touch Highlighting Palette comes in the same-size compact as the two previous highlighting plates but this time it is made of a rubberized black material with reflective golden writing on it. I prefer this type of plastic to the shiny surface of the other two palettes as it does not collect my finger prints and looks neat. It has the same tiny brush that proved to be useless for me (so I got rid of it as soon as I got the palette). The amount of product you get is 9 g or 0.32 oz (the same as with its predecessors). The compact also houses the full-size mirror.
As advertised there are two different types of textures within this palette – three highlighters are powders and one is a cream. The finishes are officially described to be shimmery, glittery and iridescent.
Solitaire is a cream highlighter and is a platinum gray base filled with tons of silver, blue and pink sparkles that translates into a glittery finish on the skin. It is a very unique shade and I do not have anything even a tiny bit close to it but this is the only shade I personally don’t know what to do with. It is a bit too dark for me to be used as a highlighter but you can still apply it as an eyeshadow base.
Tanzanite is a powder highlighter and is a lightened peachy pink shade with a huge amount of extremely finely milled multi-colored shimmer and a soft metallic finish. This is the most wearable highlighter within the palette and it compliments my skin tone the best.
Rhinestone is a powder highlighter and is a beautiful cornflower blue shade with tons of blue and pink shimmer that translates into an iridescent finish on the skin. This is the most beautiful and unordinary highlighter I’ve ever seen. It actually does look amazing on the skin and I tend to use it quite often in combination with other highlighters as it adds something extra and unique to the look.
Cubic Zirconia is a powder highlighter and is a pure white shade with lots of silver, white and pink sparkles that turns into a shimmery finish once applied. This is very eye-catching and is a perfect highlighter for those with very light and fair skin tones. I also really enjoy using it alone or together with other highlighters when my skin is at its lightest.
All four highlighters perform wonderfully and wear for as long as I have my makeup on. I’ve never expected to enjoy these highliters as much (maybe with the exception of the Tanzanite) but I find them to be unique and yet very wearable – even Solitaire can be used as an eyeshadow base or for specific looks. I also love mixing all three powder highlighters together to create an ethereal glow that looks absolutely and unexpectedly amazing! I think that Midas Touch could also be a very nice alternative to the Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild Glow Kit.
This palette is stated to be limited edition but it is still available for purchase on the Sleek MakeUP official website. I am really happy I have all three highlighting palettes as these have already become irreplaceable for me. If you are looking for unique highlighters – this palette is worth checking out!
