Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rapture

Urban Decay Lipstick in Rapture Review and Swatches
Urban Decay Lipstick in Rapture

Not that long ago Urban Decay replaced their Revolution Lipstick line with the new range of Vice Lipsticks. There are way more new shades and the packaging is slightly different. Though I hope the colors remain the same or are quite similar at very least. Here is my favorite shade from the discontinued Revolution line!

This time I am not going to post an official description of the lipstick and its price is this range is now discontinued or being currently discontinued all over the world and is now on sale. Urban Decay replaced it with Vice Lipsticks that are supposedly have a better formula and a great color range. According to the majority of bloggers who compared Revolution and Vice lipsticks – these have a lot in common formula-vise and colors are pretty much the same or have just a slightest difference. Urban Decay Vice Lipstick ($17.00) in Rapture is currently available on the Urban Decay official website.

Urban Decay Revolution Lipstick in Rapture is a deeper mauve shade with cooler undertones and a glossy, creamy finish. The formula is definitely beyond praise – it is creamy, easy to apply and is very moisturizing. It goes on completely opaque in a single swipe and stays put for 6+ hours on me.

Rapture is one of my favorite lipsticks formula-wise and is the most-used dark lipstick. Even though the color is not very deep – it looks quite dark on my light skin tone with pink undetones. The best part of it is that it actually looks very flattering on my lips as it goes perfectly well with my skin tone.

I am slightly disappointed that Urban Decay replaced the Revolution range – I loved this completely gun metal bullet with a unique wave-inspired design that was replaced with the elongated cap and a golden stick holder with somewhat the same design that now lacks this sleek, edgy feel to it. I also loved the formula and I do sincerely hope that it remained the same or was reformulated for the better (if it is even possible!).

If you happened to try both ranges – please share your thoughts with us. Which lipstick range is better – Revolution or Vice? How much product do you get in comparison to the discontinued range? Which are your favorite shades?

Share your thoughts, ideas and impressions in the comments down below!

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,

Dorothea❤

  1. Very beautiful shade! Pity but I missed discount on those lipsticks, for some reason there are still sold online in my country but for the same price as Vice.

  2. I too, am disappointed UD discontinued these! I just have the shade Rush and was planning on buying others. I agree, the gunmetal design of the tube is amazing – I don’t like the news design nearly as much! I haven’t tried the new ones yet though so I can’t comment on the formula.
