I love nail polishes and love trying everything new and innovative. Along with regular nail polishes Sally Hansen has released (about a year and a half ago) the new line of nail polishes called Miracle Gel. The line nowadays is huge and includes more than 70 shades. And I’ve chosen the bright pink-ish red to review!
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Color ($9.99) – the #1 no light gel system! In just two easy steps get up to 14 days of color and shine. More chip resistant than regular nail polish! Easy removes with regular nail polish remover.
Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Color in Pink Tank is a beautiful bright crimson red nail polish that does not lean completely red or pink and the color on the nails is true to the bottle. It has a pure cream finish and is very glossy on its own. These nail polishes are designed to be used in a very specific way that includes two layers of polish (with no base coat!) and one coat of a Miracle Gel Top Coat, that adds all the gel-effect to the nails.
This shade applies easily and goes completely opaque in a single coat! Though I still applied two as recommended by the brand. Then I used the Miracle Gel Top Coat and it took me about 15 minutes to have my nails dried. It is not gel, of course, as it definitely requires more time to get dry whereas gel cures in 30 seconds with the use of UV lamp. Miracle Gel polishes do not require to be cured in any way and harden with the help of the sun light. But when it is completely dry – to looks very even and glossy, but still not as glossy as gel nails.
For a nail polish Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail colors have an amazing wear time and application characteristics. I was impressed to see my manicure remain flawless for 6 days with no (absolutely zero!) tip wear and chipping. It stayed in a perfect condition for the whole week but it didn’t last for two weeks unfortunately and I had to remove it a week and a half later. That is twice as long as I usually have my polishes on. Normally I would have it removed 5 days later even if it is a perfect polish, because it would have had these little cracks on the surface and the tip wear would have been quite noticeable.
I loved this nail polish, but, unfortunately, you have to wait these 15-20 minutes that it takes to dry completely and cannot use the fast drying top coat that I normally prefer. But you get a full week or even more of a perfect manicure that stays flawless and has no tip wear. To say that I am impressed is to say nothing. Bravo, Sally Hansen!
