My skin has changing drastically over a short period period of time. From very dry and dehydrated it went to a combination and even a bit oily in a course of a year and a half. That made me seriously reconsider my skin care, including cleansers and masks, so that to have a better fit to my new skin type and its demands.
Kiehl’s has really impressed me with their eye creams and lip balms and it was a matter of time when I get to explore their wide range of face products. I have been extremely happy with their face cream for several months now and I have been considering purchasing one of their masks as well. Initially, I was going to get the Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque to match my day-time cream but changed my mind in favor of the Pore Cleansing one in order to make my cleansing routine more effective.
Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque ($28.00) – a cleansing masque that helps to purify skin and visibly minimize pores. Formulated with Amazonian White Clay to gently draw out oil, dirt and toxins that clog pores. The addition of Oatmeal and Aloe Vera helps to sooth the skin.
Kiehl’s Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Mask comes in a jar in the amount of 142 g or 5.0 oz. It is a clay mask of light grey shade with very delicate clay-ish scent. The consistency is very soft and a bit wet that makes the application process easy as the mask glides on the skin smoothly. The instruction on the jar suggests leaving the mask on for 10 minutes (till it gets completely dry) but from my experience you should leave it on your face for about 15-20 minutes. I apply it generously and remove it with a wet towel afterwards. This is the best and easiest way to remove this mask and it is recommended by the brand as well.
I really love this mask because it not only purifies my skin but makes my pores vanish and has quite a prolonged effect. After using this mask my skin feels clean and fresh, looks poreless and is very smooth to touch. The best part – it remains this way for two-three days least! My pores are not that large but they are visible a bit on my forehead and on the cheeks. When I use this mask – I simply cannot detect them on the skin even looking close in the mirror. Besides, my foundation goes on smoother and spreads easier when I use this mask. So, this definitely is a winner!
