Nails polishes have been my very first beauty obsession ever. I had been collecting these cute little bottles long before I started collecting makeup. I’ve tried tons of different formulas and finishes out there and there are some types of nails polishes I gravitate to and others I tend to stay away from. I believe that I’ve always had the love-hate relationship with glitter nail polishes. What about you?

What I do really enjoy about glitter nail polishes is that these polishes are extremely sparkly, festive and make quite a difference on your nails. Glitter nail color draws attention and generally looks amazing, easily compliments any look and is very special in every sense.

But at the same time this is the category of nail polishes I own the least. I believe that my collection has less than 10% of glitter nail polishes compared to all other finishes. And there is a strong reason why. Glitter nail polishes are ALWAYS a pain to take off. You might spend from 10 to 40 minutes trying to get rid of it and might not succeed. There is always a sparkly little thing left here and there (or everywhere!).

Of course, there is always a solution for those who can’t live without a glitter nail color – using peel off bases or soaking nails in acetone for 5 to 10 minutes. But it’s not for me. I prefer using my usual acetone-free nail polish remover and I stick to my usual Essie nail polish base.

So, I love glitter nail polishes but I hate to take them off. I do use such a nail polish from time to time (like 5 times a year) and I always regret painting my nails with it when the time comes to take it off.

Do you like glitter nail polishes? Or may be it is the same love-hate relationship as mine? What do you like and don’t like about them? Do you have any tips and tricks to share? I would really love to know what you think – share all your thoughts, ideas and opinions in the comments down below!

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,

  1. I feel the way you do. I love glitter polishes to bits but I curse them when it comes to removing the glitter. And just like you I’m not a fan of peel off base coats and I don’t soak my nails in pure acetone.

I think it’s best to use glitter polish on one accent nail (or maybe two?) only – this saves a lot of time and trouble. 🙂
