Both January and February turned out to be full of events and as a result a bit stressful for me though the beginning of the new year always implies the beginning of something new and exciting! I’ve been trying quite a few of new products these months and I have to admit I’ve found several amazing products that are definitely worth a try! I decided to combine both favorites into a single post because some of my favorites go perfectly well together even though these are the favorite items from different months.
Both Maybelline Color Tattoo 24 HR in Creme De Rose and Maybelline Master Ink Matte in 10 Charcoal Black are new on the market. I acquired the new shade of Color Tattoo eyeshadow earlier in January and haven’t parted with it since. It is the most beautiful neutral grey-ish pink shade that compliments my pink-based skin so nicely! It acts as an amazing eyeshadow base though I do usually use it together with my all-time favorite Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base that ensures me eye makeup stays put for as long as I can imagine! The perfect match and my most-recent go-to look includes the new Ink Matte Liner that dries completely matte almost instantly. It has a very precise felt tip that allows you to draw both thin and thick liner. I love how clean and sophisticated it looks when used alone with the cream eyeshadow in Creme De Rose and a bit of mascara.
The next favorite of mine was a very unexpected discovery! Sephora Wonderful Cushion Glowy Natural Finish Cushion Foundation has just recently been launched with Sephora finally jumping on the bandwagon of cushion foundations. I did not expect much from it and was so pleasantly surprised when I first tried it. It is a very light-weight, easy to apply foundation that instantly smoothes the appearance of pores and does not allow my forehead get oily too quickly. It is quite hydrating as well that is prefect for my skin. Beautiful product! I will do an in-depth review next week – stay tuned!
Another Sephora favorite this time is a PRO brush – Sephora PRO Angled Blush brush #49 that is designed specifically for blushes. It is the best blush brush I’ve tired. It works best with powdery formulas although it might be a good solution for creamier textures as well. It is angled that makes it easy to swipe the color on the right places. It washes well and I love the long handle it has because it is extremely comfortable to use. I also avoided placing high hopes on Yves Rocher makeup line and the brand proved me completely wrong. Yves Rocher Velvety Loose Powder in 01 Transparency Rosee is the best loose powder I’ve tried so far. It is extremely finely milled, it is not powdery (meaning that powder dust and particles do not float around you every time you use it!) but at the same time it sets foundation and concealer perfectly and is absolutely invisible on the skin though it is tinted.
Diving into high-end makeup I have been really enjoying using the Giorgio Armani Cheek Fabric Sheer Blush in 506 Blush – it is a perfect your-cheeks-but-better blush. This particular shade looks gorgeous on everyone! But I was mostly impressed with the formula – it is a powder blush that is no where near powdery, it blends easily and does not go on streaky. It is impossible to overdo it neither will you end up with no blush on your face. A perfect no-brainer for me! I’ve also mentioned The Body Shop Vitamin E Eyes Cube in the most recent Question of the Day stating how much I love it! It is an amazing on-the-go solution for your eyes that brightens and hydrates the area leaving it smooth and prepared for makeup.
Finally, you may nave already read my review on NARS Tahiti Laguna Bronzing Powder, which I named my new bronzer staple! I am so angry at myself for neglecting this gorgeous bronzer for so long! It is currently available in a permanent packaging with the limited edition featured above. This bronzer looks natural on the skin leaving it sun-kissed with this gorgeous golden glow that is slightly noticeable. It has a wonderful formula that blends easily and is a pleasure to apply. I totally recommend trying it! The last but not least favorite of the month would be a unique tuberose fragrance that turns into pure honey on my skin – Givenchy Amarige. It has a beautiful vast pyramid with tuberose, mimosa and gardenia taking the lead. I could not imagine loving a white floral fragrance until I tried the Amarige. Even though it is full of white flowers it still is based on a very warm and spicy, a bit woody base that makes it very sweet and not floral at all. I even feel honey when I smell it and barely get any flowers from it. Love it!
