I used to really like Orly nail polishes when I was younger – they always had the most interesting shades, effects and were really easy to apply. I have recently spotted Orly nail polishes in my local store and could not resist getting a couple of them just to see whether these are still as good as they used to be. The first one I would love to show you today is Orly Scandal – a beautiful deep crimson red.
Orly Laquer Nail Polish ($8.50) – At ORLY we never stop looking for the next big idea. By keeping hot on the heels of the latest trends, our talented team of color experts deliver the bright ideas, hot colors and bold textures our fans love. Color is the foundation of everything we do. It is our heart, and soul, and the reflection of our multi-faceted personality. Full of the classics, the revolutionary and time-tested fan favorites the ORLY Permanent Color Collection has something for everyone.
Orly Scandal is a part of the permanent collection. The finish is stated to be cream and it is completely true as the shade does not even have a hint of shimmer or glimmer. I would describe a color as a deep crimson red that looks pinker in a bottle than it does on the nails. It may even turn oxblood red in the shadow and looks way lighter in direct flash.
It has a very thick yet runny consistency so you have to wait for a couple of drops to fall down from the brush before you apply it otherwise you may end up with polish on your cuticles. At the same time the formula is very nice and easily evens out on its own. You need two thin layers to reach full opacity. Beware, if you apply thicker layers you may see the nail polish bubbling a little bit though it is not that noticeable.
Orly Scandal is a nice nail polish – the shade everyone has to have in their collection. It is such a classic deep red that looks good on everyone. It works nice with both base and top coats and dries quite quickly that makes it a good nail polish if you are in a hurry. Although, red is beyond seasons – I still vision this color in spring as it reminds me of deep red tulips that are first to bloom. Scandal is a nice polish with good application characteristics and it is worth being checked out if you like deep reds.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Have an amazing day!
Hugs and kisses,
