December was such a busy month this time. It is already mid-January and I start feeling like it is finally the year of 2016. I had a lot to do and had even more on my mind that it made me take a step away from my usual blogging schedule. Although I have recently reorganized my day so that I can now get back to my normal publishing activity. Better late than never – so here are the products I really enjoyed using in December! And stay tuned for Quaterly Empties and Best Products of 2015 next week!
Since I got the Zoeva Smoky Eyeshadow Palette (full review here) I have been using it if not everyday but very often at least. More often than all my other palettes. You get twelve gorgeous shades with this palette and ten out of twelve eyeshadows are actually matte or almost matte. I had never been a huge fan of matte eyeshadows before I got this palette. It has already become a makeup staple of mine and I cannot imagine not having it around when I do my makeup. All eyeshadows are intensely pigmented and go on smoothly, blend easily and are perfect in all senses. You can easily create any type of a look with this palette alone or combining it with other palettes or single eyeshadows. I totally recommend getting this palette because it is awesome!
I believe that I got a travel-sized tube of the Benefit Roller Lash Curling and Lifting Mascara two or three months ago and completely forgot about it. I rediscovered it in my stash sometime in December and haven’t parted with it since. Even though I am a huge fan of Urban Decay Mascaras – Benefit Roller Lash has already become not only one of my favorites but it has its permanent place in the ‘top three list of my favorite mascaras ever’ with the first two being Urban Decay Perversion/Subversion Duo and Lancome Grandiose Mascara. Roller Lash Mascara is really good at separating and curling lashes while adding a ton of volume. It stays on my lashes for as long as I wear makeup and looks absolutely gorgeous!
I have already published a huge post on Catrice Absolute Eye Colour Eyeshadows (full review here) and have mentioned how much I really like these eyeshadows for wonderful colour pay-off and excellent blendability. As a result I have found my new favorite brow bone highlighter – Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in The Beauty and The Beige. It is an amazing warm-toned whitened beige shade that looks stunning on everyone!
I have always been a huge fan of the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish highlighters and I just had to try the famous Soft & Gentle (full review here) that managed to escape my makeup collection somehow. It is no surprise it has made it to my monthly favorites this time as it is absolutely gorgeous to say no less. Even though it is warm-toned it still has a bit of peachy pink to it that makes it wearable for those with neutral and cool undertones. I believe this is the most universal highlighter in my collection and the fact that it is easy to apply and reach any desired intensity with it makes Soft & Gentle my personal favorite of the month.
I have not yet written anything about the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup. And I have no good reason for it because it is marvelous. I really like foundations that allow you to build the intensity steadily and easily move from a sheer to full coverage while still allowing you skin look like skin. This Maybelline foundation is a perfect example in this category. Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Treatment Makeup is a very nice foundation with a sheer to medium coverage. It goes on smoothly and looks almost dewy on the skin. The explanation for dewiness would be that fact that this foundation was designed for mature skin that requires a lot of hydration that makes it a perfect choice for those with dry to normal skin. It adds enough moisture to my skin to look natural while having enough coverage for daily wear. Love it!
Blushes are a soft spot of mine as you can never have too many blushes! Seriously, there can never be two identically pink-lavender blushes in one’s collection, right? That is exactly what I was telling myself while purchasing MAC Blush in Well Dressed. It is a beautiful lavender pink blush with neutral undertones that has instantly become my top choice for everyday wear. I love how natural it looks on my skin that has very strong cool undertones. And MAC Blushes are known for a good pigmentation and blendability with Well Dressed being no exception.
I do not like winter that much – for very cold winds outside and drying air conditioning inside. My lips always feel damaged and dehydrated in winter unless I take a really good care of them. I really enjoyed using Clarins Instant Light Natural Lip Perfector in Rose Shimmer as it gives enough moisture to my lips while adding a bit of a color to them.
Seeing the Clinique Acne Solutions All-Over Clearing Treatment among my monthly favorites is so strange because it is a products aimed for those with oily skin and I am far from being even a bit oily. I just have a slightly oilier forehead and a tiniest bit of oil on my chin. At the same time the rest of my face is normal to dry that makes my skin a combination type. But I have recently been really loving this treatment as it allows me to control oils on forehead and keeps it matte all day while not drying the rest of my face at the same time. It acts as a nice makeup base for me as well.
And finally, my favorite nail polish of the month is a mauve nude-ish colour by Sally Hansen. Mauve Along (full review here) is a perfect glossy neutral nail polish that looks appropriate for any occasion and at any place. It is my new go-to nail polish because of the shade and its decent wear-time.
This is it for my monthly favorites this time. I think that besides being hectic December was also full of some amazing launches, cool makeup products and new discoveries.
