I have really been liking the NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows lately, especially right after I purchased the Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette. Therefore, you can imagine how pleasantly surprised I was to receive a gift package from the brand containing their two most recent releases – NARS Velvet Shadow Stick in Glenan and NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow in Pasiphae.
NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow ($29.00) features a luxuriously smooth transformative texture. Fourteen ready-to-wear and rebelliously romantic sophisticated shades to express a riveting range of eye drama. Go both ways.
NARS Dual Intensity Eyeshadow is currently available in 14 gorgeous shades (seven of which I have already reviewed as these come in a NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadow Palette). The Pasiphae shade was a new addition to the line released within the NARS Fall 2015 Collection. Pasiphae is officially described as a ‘shimmering peacock burgundy‘ and is a warm-toned brown based bottle green shade with a strong yellow undertone and a shimmery to metallic finish.
This shade could be applied both wet and dry and the finish depends a lot on the way you apply it. On the photos above the left swatch is Pasiphae applied wet and therefore you can see what a strong metallic finish it has. When applied dry it looks way more shimmery and not that reflective.I really like this particular shade because it is very wearable and works beautifully with warm-toned shades and golds. And it is suitable for holiday season as well as for the Fall. It lasts for almost forever on my eyes, especially if applied on the NARS Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base (my holy grail eyeshadow base!). As I said in my previous review – I can totally recommend the NARS Dual-Intensity Eyeshadows!
NARS Velvet Shadow Stick ($28.00) layers under, glides over. Effortlessly blends and sets the scene with a range of matte to multi-dimensional shades. Twists up on command and draws attention any place, any time. Pair with a powder shadow or wear alone.
I already own two of the NARS Velvet Shadow Sticks in shades Goddess and Oaxaca and I totally am in love with the colors! NARS has sent me this gorgeous navy shade know as Glenan. It is officially described as ‘navy‘ and it is a deep and rich navy blue shade packed with ultra-fine multicolored shimmer that makes the finish more satin than matte.
These shadow sticks have a wonderful creamy texture that glides on so incredibly easy and does not drag the sensitive lid skin even the tiniest bit. Glenan is easy to apply and is easy to blend to the desired effect. It goes completely opaque and delivers rich color in a single stroke as it is intensely pigmented. Even if you blend it out it does not go patchy. As I am already acquainted with the formula of the NARS Velvet Shadow Sticks I have to say that it preforms wonderfully if used as a base and is set with a powder eyeshadow. It also stays put on my eyes for 8 hours at very least when it is applied over the Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base. You can use Glenan both as an eyeshadow (applied intensely or sheered out) or you can use it as a liner with a thin liner brush such as NARS #47 Angled Eyeliner Brush or ZOEVA Wing Liner #317.
I would love to thank NARS a lot for sending me these amazing products! It is wonderful that such incredible brands like NARS notice bloggers and support our aspirations to write honest and reliable reviews for our readers!
