Generally I do prefer lipsticks to all other lip products because of a very good pigmentation, better wear time and a huge variety of finishes and effects. I have recently decided to give Sleek lipsticks a try and I would love to share my opinion on them with you as the range of lipsticks is quite consistent in terms of quality and color choice.
Sleek MakeUP True Color Lipstick ($7.49) – get high impact lips with True Colour Lipstick in a gorgeous matte and sheen finishes in a variety of shades that are highly pigmented, and conditioning to keep lips soft and supple. Enriched with vitamin E helping to hydrate and protect the lips. Comfortable to wear and glides on with ease this is the must have to awaken your makeup look.
I decided to try five lipsticks from the range – the colors I’ve chosen are quite wearable on everyday basis and I’ve already put them to a proper test. There are 20 shades available in the range and shades differ from very pale nudes up to the deepest vampy colors. There is an almost equal amount of cool- and warm-toned shades so that everyone can easily find something to one’s liking. The amount of product you get us 3.5 g or 1.2 oz.
Sleek MakeUP True Color Lipstick in shade Baby Doll (771) is officially described as a ‘sheen pale pink‘ and is a light whitened pink shade with neutral undertones and a glossy finish. The formula of the lipstick is very creamy and it glides easily on the lips. It has a ‘Sheen‘ finish.
This particular shade is very light and I would advise patting it into your lips instead of swiping so it does not go that pigmented otherwise it looks like a ton of waxy product on the lips. When it is applied with a light hand – it is a beautiful, gentle light pink shade that looks very flattering on different skin tones due to how neutral it comes out. As it is very creamy it stays on my lips for about three hours fading away steadily thereafter.
Sleek MakeUP True Color Lipstick in shade Peaches & Cream (774) is officially described as a ‘sheen creamy light peach‘ and is a warm-toned milky peachy orange shade with a shiny finish. The formula is also very creamy and hydrating. Finish is ‘Sheen‘.
This shade is very warm in real life and leans quite orange on the lips. Although, it may even look more peachy-pink on warm-toned complexions. The creamy formula makes this lipstick very comfortable to wear. It goes on completely opaque in a couple of swipes and stays on my lips for about three to four hours. I love the finish of it as it is very shiny and reflective – appears almost wet on the lips.
Sleek MakeUP True Color Lipstick in shade Barely There (776) is officially described as a ‘sheen nude peach‘ and is a light traditional peachy-pink nude shade with neutral undertones and a glossy finish. The finish of it is also stated to be ‘Sheen‘ and it has the same creamy formula as the other two lipsticks mentioned above.
It is a more wearable nude as it looks equally good on many different skintones – mainly because of its neutral undertones. The formula of sheen lipsticks is very hydrating and comfortable to wear but it results in a reduced wear time. Barely There remains on my lips for three hours before it starts steadily absorbing and disappearing.
Sleek MakeUP True Color Lipstick in shade Bare All (777) is officially described as a ‘matte peachy coral‘ is a warm-toned peachy orange shade with slightly pink undertones and a satiny matte finish. The finish of this lipsticks is stated to be ‘Matte‘ and the formula is significantly drier in comparison to the ‘Sheen‘ finish.
Once on the lips this lipstick leans more orange than pink and does not go completely matte as it still have a bit of a sheen to it. Although it does look drier on the lips and feels the same. Nevertheless, it does not dry out my lips and has a better wear time than ‘Sheens’. It goes on completely opaque with a first swipe and stays on my lips for five to six hours.
Sleek MakeUP True Color Lipstick in shade Heartbreaker (779) is officially described as a ‘matte bright coral pink‘ and is a bright, almost neon, warm-toned pink shade with a satiny matte finish. It has the same ‘Matte‘ finish and is more on the drier side compared to sheen lipsticks.
Heartbreaker is my personal favorite from the range. I love this neon pink on my lips and I think that it will also be suitable for a majority of skin tones. It makes your teeth appear extra white and does not look that into face due to an almost matte finish. It is quite dry and goes on completely opaque with the first swipe and stays on my lips for more than six hours with no fading. Gorgeous bright shade!
Here is a comparison swatch of all five lipsticks I own.
I have to say that I really enjoyed all lipsticks I got because the pigmentation is beautiful and these lipsticks are quite comfortable to wear. I also like the color selection available and I do really think of trying more shades in future. I would also love to mention a cute rubberized packaging that feels a lot like NARS packaging and is extremely nice to touch. It seems to be more expensive that it actually is and the product itself is of a very high quality. If you want to try Sleek lipsticks – go with mattes because these are quite beautiful!
