Monthly Favorites: November 2015

November was an amazing month in terms of new products and interesting discoveries. I got a chance to try a lot of new products and some of them proved to be exceptionally good. Sleek MakeUP has definitely been a discovery of mine as this brand has tons of beautiful products that have already become my favorites!

Nars NARSissist Hardwired Eye Kit Review
Nars NARSissist Hardwired Eye Kit

When I first got the Nars NARSissit Hardwired Eye Kit I was a bit skeptical as I had already seen several negative reviews on it. But I was pleasantly surprised when I first used it! All six eyeshadows in the pan are buttery smooth and easy to pick up and blend. I always (10 times out of 10) use the eyeshadow base with all my eyeshadows and palettes because I tend to have oilier lids. As usual, I used Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base and all Hardwired eyeshadows had both excellent pigmentation on it and lasted for solid ten hours on me. It is a perfect basic palette and I reach for it very often as the top row is a perfect crease combination, the black shade is pigmented enough for smoky eyes and the highlighting shade is absolutely gorgeous as well. I do not use the greenish shade that often but it is quite beautiful too. This palette comes with a brush and eyeliner that are of a high quality as well.

Sleek MakeUP Precious Metals Highlighting Palette Review

Another huge favorite of mine is the Sleek MakeUP Precious Metals Highlighting Palette. I have already done a full review on it and I have to say that it is not only beautiful but is very practical and useful for everyday makeup. Platinum (shimmery white highlighter) is still one of my most used highlighters. Both champagne gold shades remind me a lot of The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer that is my all-time favorite highlighter ever. This is a very worthy highlighting palette both in terms of the high quality products you get and the price.

Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder Review
Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder

My new must-have and the most recent discovery is the Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Powder. It is a translucent powder that is so finely milled that feels like absolutely nothing on the skin. It doe not only matify your skin but leaves it exceptionally soft to touch. This is my new makeup staple as I use it daily to set my under-eye concealer and it does an absolutely amazing job. Totally recommend it – and here is more of an in-depth review on it.

Sleek MakeUP Blush in Rose Gold Review
Sleek MakeUP Blush in Rose Gold

As I already mentioned, Sleek MakeUP has really impressed me with the amazing range of high-quality products they have. I fell in love with their powder blushes at first touch. And I have really enjoyed the Sleek MakeUP Blush in Rose Gold, though initially I was not that enthusiastic about it. It is a prefect dupe to Nars Orgasm Blush and has a wonderful pigmentation together with amazing staying powder. It is easy to blend and it looks so refreshing on the skin. Beautiful! There a few more blushes in the range – you can take a look at the other two I have here.

Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in Papaya Don't Preach Review
Catrice Absolute Eye Colour in Papaya Don’t Preach

Catrice Absolute Eye Colour Eyeshadows deserve way more attention than they get. These eyeshadows are intensely pigmented, easy to blend, easy to use and these last for 8 hours on me. I have been using the light almost matte orange-peach shade called Papaya Don’t Preach quite often this month as it is a perfect crease shade for warm-toned eye looks. I have already got a few more to review – so stay tuned!

Nars Lip Gloss in Dolce Vita Review
Nars Lip Gloss in Dolce Vita

This November I was into darker mauve lips and I really did enjoy using Nars Lip Gloss in Dolce Vita. All Nars Lip Glosses have very good color-payoff and are not sticky that make these lip glosses a perfect choice for everyday wear. This particular shade looks a lot like a glossy liquid lipstick that pigmented it is. Dolce Vita is such a beautiful medium-toned plummy pink shade that is ideal for late autumn or winter. Here is full-review on it together with the famous Nars Lip Gloss in Turkish Delight.

Sleek MakeUP Matte Me in Petal Review
Sleek MakeUP Matte Me in Petal

Sleek MakeUP Matte Me in Petal is the most flattering cool-toned pink liquid lipstick I’ve ever seen. It look gorgeous on my light skin and has already become my go-to nude shade. It is very easy to use due to an unusual applicator and dries completely matte without setting into lip lines. What is absolute stunning about it is that it lasts for ages! You can literally take it off with a cotton pad, oily-based micellar water and lot of effort – that is a huge plus for me because I do not mind much a fuss with taking it off but I can definitely appreciate it staying on my lips no matter what. I have written a first impression on this liquid lipstick here.

These are my favorite products and my personal discoveries for the month of November. What have been your favorite makeup and skin care items this month? Share your answers in the comments down below – I would really love to know!

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,

  1. I have a feeling thar Catrice eyeshadows can be a bit hit and miss. Some are ridiculously buttery and pigmented while others feel powdery and disappear when they’re blended. Do you have any other shades of them?

    1. I have not experienced anything like that yet.. but may be it is true! I have 10 shades for upcoming review but I have not tested them yet – so we’ll see 😉 I just have to say that I find Catrice powder products to be of a very high quality overall 🙂
