First Impression: Sleek MakeUP Matte Me in Petal and Gloss Me in Phoenix Rising

I have been enjoying almost everything I’ve recently got from the Sleek MakeUP. The brand has quite an interesting range of lip products – you can choose from lipsticks, lip glosses and liquid lipsticks. As I am currently getting to know the brand I decided to try two of their lip makeup items – Matte Me liquid lipstick and Gloss Me lip gloss.

Sleek MakeUP Matte Me ($7.49) is a matte finish liquid lipstick that glides on in one smooth application, with no need for a second coat.

Sleek MakeUP Gloss Me ($7.49) provides you with maximum high-shine coverage that ensures a dazzling pout all day long. The ultra intense, long lasting colour doesn’t stray, drenching lips in a full coat of gloss in just one application.

Sleek MakeUP Matte Me in Petal Review
Sleek MakeUP Matte Me in Petal

Sleek MakeUp Matte Me in Petal is officially described as a ‘pale pastel pink, that can be teamed with Oh So Special i-Divine for a rosy look‘. It is a cool-toned plain pink shade with no shimmer and a completely matte finish.

It definitely is a liquid lipstick as the formula is quite runny that allows it to go completely matte on the lips within a minute (compared to 15 minutes the NYX matte creams require). It dries very fast and stays put for ages! Literally! There is absolutely nothing that takes this lipstick off but the oil-based makeup remover (an probably a very oily meal). Such a pale shade does not require a lip pencil and the applicator is easy enough to use to outline the lips as it is quite long and flat. This liquid lipstick does emphasize the texture of your lips (as all mates do) but does not set into lip lines at all. It goes evenly and stays the way ups applied it. It is a very cool-toned pink lipstick that actually looks very flattering on my NW20 skin. Even though it is a matte formula it is not drying on the lips.

Sleek MakeUP Gloss Me in Phoenix Rising

Sleek MakeUP Gloss Me in Phoenix Rising has no official description on Sleek MakeUP website. It is a deep purply burgundy shade with tons of iridescent shimmer that changes its color from pink to orange to light blue. Nevertheless, this lip gloss does not have a shimmery finish. It is super glossy and reflective.

Even though this lip gloss swatches very purple and shimmer is very visible it is more of deep burgundy shade on the lips with a purple hue that makes it quite cool-toned. It is super glossy and shimmer is visible in the direct lighting only. It remains that glossy for an hour or two while steadily absorbing. It is quite hydrating while its on the lips and is very comfortable to wear. It goes semi-opaque in the first swipe and is just a bit buildable. This lip gloss stays on my lips for at least three to four hours slightly fading away afterwards.

Both lip products are packaged in a long rectangular sleek transparent tube with black plastic cap. The amount of product you get is 6 ml ior 0.21 fl oz. Both lip items have identical applicator that is very unusual but quite comfortable to use and to outline the lips. Neither Gloss ME nor Matte Me have any particular scent.

My favorite of the two would be the Phoenix Rising lip gloss – I love such a deep burgundy yet cool-toned shade on my lips. But the matte Petal lipstick is a nice option as well that can easily compliment any makeup look. Sleek MakeUP does create some amazing makeup and their lip products are truly nice!

Have you tried any Sleek MakeUP lip products? What do you think? Let me know in the comments down below!

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,

Dorothea
