With all of the upcoming holidays I feel very festive and therefore I have been reaching for sparkling and eye-catching nail polishes. Chanel Graphite has always been my favorite nail polish for the holiday season for how unique and interesting it is.
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00) features classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies without streaking.
Chanel Graphite was a part of the nail polish trio released within the Chanel Fall 2011 Collection. this collection was inspired by and dedicated to the natural stones and the other two nail polishes are Chanel Peridot (reviewed here) and Chanel Quartz (reviewed here). Unfortunately, all three shades were limited edition but have already caused a huge number of wonderful dupes by other brands.
Chanel Graphite is a a glittery nail polish – a mix of silver, gold and steel-colored glitter and finely milled shimmer that results in a shimmery-glittery finish that is smooth to touch. It looks almost metallic on the nails with the same color transition in different lightings.
Due to the fact that it is a glitter nail polish it is relatively easy to apply but it definitely requires two coats to reach full opacity. All Chanel nail polishes have a very comfortable to use brush that allows you to evenly color your nails and avoid streakiness.
This is a very beautiful shade that is definitely very festive and eye-catching. Unfortunately, it has the most disappointing wearing time ever – the tips of the nails wear off the first day and the nail polish itself chips on the second day (or third day, if you’re lucky).
If you compare this nail polish to its main inspiration – Graphite – you will see that is actually is really good at resembling the stone. It is a marvelous shade and one of the perfect shades for the holiday season – if you are okay with a couple of days wear time. I love to use this nail polish for special occasions only when I do not have to wear it for the whole week. My manicure always receives tons of compliments when I have Chanel Graphite on. I am pretty sure that there are lots of nice (and probably more long-wearing dupes) out there.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Have an amazing day!
Hugs and kisses,
