Zoeva is my absolute favorite brand for makeup brushes – a perfect combination of price and quality. I have recently discovered that Zoeva makes one of the best eyeshadows on the market as well. I am crazy about their Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette – it is pure perfection if you love coppers, browns and taupes! Zoeva Mixed Metals Eyeshadow Palette is another perfect example of wonderfully created and combined eyeshadows!
ZOEVA Mixed Metals ($21.50) is inspired by the eternal search of beauty and natural precious minerals. ZOEVA Mixed Metals Palette reveals glittering shades in a metal kaleidoscope of copper, platinum and aluminum. Dig into multi-faceted colors with metallic reflections for precious, strong and dynamic eye makeup. Lower your eyelids to shine with the sun.
Zoeva Mixed Metals eyeshadow palette is packed with ten gorgeous metallic eyeshadows from a light highlighting shade to the full spectrum of rainbow and a satin black. Even though Zoeva website states that the finishes in the palette are mattes and metallics – it is not completely true. Nine eyeshadows out of ten are pure metallics and the only one (black) is satin and not matte.
The design of this palette is inspired with mountains, stones and metals. The size and weight of each eyeshadow pan is exactly like the one in the Cocoa Blend palette – each pan is 2.5 cm in diameter and contains 1.5 g or 0.05 oz of product. It’s exactly as much as you get with each Urban Decay single eyeshadow and that is a lot! And each eyeshadow is so intensely pigmented like you wouldn’t believe it! Silky-soft, creamy to touch with almost wet finish.
The first row of eyeshadows from left to right:
Alloy – medium dark brown shade with strong purple undertones and extremely finely milled pink, gold and violet shimmer that translates into brown-purple metallic sheen on the skin.
Neo Brass – old gold shade with strong green undertones and a very metallic finish. One of the creamiest (if it’s even possible!) shades in the palette. Looks the same when applied dry and wet.
Bronce – medium dark green shade with slightly yellow duo-chrome and very strong metallic finish.
Rusty Steel – deep and rich dark bronze shade with slightly brown undertones and creamy metallic finish. Is extremely pigmented.
Copper plate – rusty red copper shade with slightly orange undertones and extremely finely milled pink shimmer that adds dimension to this eyeshadow and does not allow it to appear completely red. Has a very strong metallic finish.
The second row of eyeshadows from left to right:
Warm Silver – very light creamy white highlighting shade with finely milled silver glitter and shimmery finish that appears almost metallic on the skin.
Platinum – medium dark silver steel shade with green hue and a strong metallic finish. Almost duo-chrome.
Ore Stone – warm-toned medium-deep blue shade with extremely finely milled silver and pink shimmer that translates into intense metallic sheen on the skin.
Aluminium – medium dark, rich gray shade with slightly brown and steel undertones. Packed with tons of very finely milled pink and silver shimmer and has a very strong shimmery metallic finish.
Onyx – intensely pigmented dark, deep, pure black shade with tiniest, almost invisible silver shimmer that makes this color not matte but satin – though it may look matte when blended.
I was so surprised how buttery-smooth, creamy and pigmented all eyeshadows are. There is not even a single miss in the whole palette. All eyeshadows apply wonderfully and stay in place for ages, especially with an eyeshadow base as I prefer to wear all my eyeshadows. I have created a couple of looks for you to show how beautiful these eyeshadows look on the eyes.
This look is a combination of Alloy in the crease, Warm Silver in the inner corner, Platinum, Ore Stone and Aluminum create a gradient on the lid and the outer edge is darkened with Onyx.
These eyeshadow go nicely with a winged liner and you can easily get away with this palette only without reaching for matte or satin eyeshadows.
The combination of warm and cool-toned eyeshadows allow you to create any type of look for any occasion. Such shades like Alloy and Rusty Steel look wonderful as crease shades even though these are not matte.
The second look was created with the use of the first row of eyeshadows and is distinctively warm-toned. These shades are absolutely perfect for Fall looks, especially the Copper Plate and Neo Brass.
I love the Zoeva Mixed Metals eyeshadow palette! It is absolutely amazing – gorgeous and intensely pigmented shades that look almost wet when applied to the skin. The pigmentation is beyond any praise! You can rarely see eyeshadows of such a great quality as these are. If you love metallic eyeshadows you will be extremely happy with the Mixed Metals. If you are not a fan of metallics and prefer mattes – this palette might not be much of a use for you. But you can always use it in combination with matte eyeshadows from other palettes because these eyeshadows blend beautifully and can work nicely as a splash of color for a more subtle look.
This palette is magic and I really enjoy using Mixed Metals each time I reach for it! Totally recommend it! Well done, Zoeva!
