I really like Catrice powder products and have already done a number of reviews on Catrice powders, bronzers and blushes. I have been very curious about their eyeshadows for quite some time now. So I decided to give the Catrice Absolute Rose eyeshadow palette a try and was pleasantly surprised at what an excellent quality it has!
Catrice Absolute Rose Eyeshadow Palette (€4,99 or $5.70) – soft nudes and trendy rosé shades – sometimes matt and sometimes shimmering – create a beautiful natural look no matter whether they are used solo or as a team.
Catrice Absolute Rose palette comes in plastic black packaging with transparent lid. It closes safely and it won’t get opened by chance whether in your makeup bag or in a drawer. This palette contains six eyeshadows that feature different shades or pink. The weight of each eyeshadow pan is 1 g that totals 6 g or 0.21 oz. that is a pretty standard amount for eyeshadow palettes – for example, you get 7 g or 0.24 oz of product with the Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con eyeshadow palettes that have seven eyeshadows each.
This palette also comes with a double-ended synthetic brush and a sponge applicator that I no longer have due to the fact that I prefer my full-sized brush to apply my eyeshadows and I never actually use sponge applicators at all.
Eyeshadows inside do not really have any names and I will describe them starting with the lightest – from left to right.
The first shade is a very light creamy pink with light peachy undertones. It looks almost matte in a palette but has a satin finish on the skin.
The second shade is a warm-toned peachy pink shade with satiny-metallic finish.
The third shade is a light mauve taupe shade with slightly warm brown undertones and a strong metallic finish.
The fourth shade is a bright yet cool-toned lavender taupe shade with a strong metallic finish.
The fifth shade is a muted grayish taupe shade with very strong purple undertones and a completely matte finish.
The sixth shade is the darkest in the palette and is a dupe to Urban Decay Naked 3 Blackhearts shade. It is a deep and blackened plum shade with pink glitter that is visible on the skin. It has a satin finish with glitter.
The best part of this palette is an excellent quality it has. All eyeshadows are buttery smooth, easily blendable and has a wonderful staying power. Being that silky to touch they have some fall-out but are not powdery. These remind me a lot of the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette in terms of quality. All shades from mattes to satins and metallics perform wonderfully with or without the base and go really well together.
I was personally very much surprised to see how well these eyeshadows perform. If you are looking for a perfect drugstore eyeshadow palette with rose, pink and taupe shades in it – this is the must-have. It allows you to create so many beautiful looks with the rose-taupe hue to them and it is actually a very nice basic palette as I use it to highlight the brown bone, to define the crease or to smoke out the outer corner of the eye. This is an amazing palette to use with some brighter eyeshadows because it has everything you need to accompany brighter and vivid shades you might want to use. And an affordable price makes it unbeatable in terms of quality and shades variety. Very well done, Catrice!
