Fall is definitely one of the most beautiful seasons of the year. Who doesn’t love these gold, bronze and cranberry colors in nature combined with soft lighting and muted shadows? I love Fall and I love to use dark, deep and dramatic shades for this season! Today I have three gorgeous MAC lipsticks for you as a color inspiration for your Fall lips.

MAC Lipstick ($17.00) is a lipstick with hundreds of hues. The iconic product that made MAC famous.

If you like dark berry lips but still do not feel confident enough to use a rich and deep shades of cranberry – there is a MAC Captive Lipstick for you. It is officially described as ‘pinkish plum‘ shade and is a slightly muted fuchsia pink shade with plum undertones. The finish is stated to be satin, but it is quite glossy in real life.

This is a beautiful, bright but still a deep plummy fuchsia shade that could be a good transition to deeper lip colors. It wears extremely well on my lips and stays put for six hours. The formula is not hydrating neither it is drying. It is quite comfortable to wear and applies quite easily with or without the lip liner.

MAC Hot Tahiti Lipstick Review

If you personally prefer more orange based lipsticks, then a perfect Fall shade for you could be the MAC Hot Tahiti Lipstick. MAC states it to be a ‘soft reddish-coral‘ and it is an orange based deep red lipstick with slightly coral undertones. The finish is described as glaze and it is quite a glossy lipstick.

Hot Tahiti is an amazing match for those with golden and olive undertones as it compliments such skin types really nicely. As it is glaze and glossy it has a lesser wear time on my lips than the above-mentioned shade and stays on for about five to six hours. This one is quite bright and goes better with a lip liner as it is of a bit slippery texture.

MAC Hang-Up Lipstick Review

And finally, the darkest and most autumnal shade in my collection – a captivatingly beautiful MAC Hang-Up Lipstick. Mac says it to be a ‘deep berry‘ shade and is a rich darkened cranberry shade with strong red undertones and a hue of plum in it. It has a cremesheen finish and it is actually quite a glossy and creamy lipstick.

I absolutely adore this lipstick shade! It is so vampy, glossy and it is such a gorgeous color for any Fall makeup! It is quite creamy and glides on the lips so easily. It wears for five hours on my lips and fades away steadily. I would suggest wearing it with a lip liner as darker shades like this one tend to leak. I love wearing it with the MAC Pro Longer Lip Pencil in Absolutely It and it is officially my favorite lip combination for Fall!

  1. I owe so much to Captive! It was the one lipstick that helped me transition from nudes and light pinks only to rich plums and deeper colors. I just didn’t have the confidence to wear them but I would wear Captive and then suddenly the transition to Diva and other really dark colors wasn’t such a shock. I owe it all to Captive!
