Today I have the most exciting review for you ever! I have been a huge fan of Zoeva face and eye brushes for a very long time now and I have recently decided to finally give their palettes a try. And you know what? I think this is one of my most favorite palettes ever. Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette is a perfect addition to your Fall makeup bag – it is absolutely awesome!
Zoeva Cocoa Blend Eyeshadow Palette ($21.50) results of a world of sweet sins. Inspired by warm truffle colors, delicate nougat shades and shimmery marzipan tones for a seductive glamour makeup.
It is an amazing neutrals palette with a couple of brighter shades. These colors are very Fall appropriate with a bright raspberry shade, deep browns and gentle golden purples. With this palette you get ten shades in total and these are of six different finishes. The brand states that these eyeshadows come in matte, satin, metallic, duo chrome, pearl and matte with glitter finishes so you have quite a variety of eyeshadows to do your makeup with.
The size and weight of the Zoeva shadows in this palette are pretty decent – each eyeshadow pan is 2.5 cm in diameter (exactly like a 2 Euro coin) and 1.5 g or 0.05 oz each. You get the exact same size and amount of eyeshadow with the Urban Decay single eyeshadows (1.5 g or 0.05 oz), you get more in comparison with each of Urban Decay Naked palettes (1.3 g or 0.05 oz) and you get way more than in a Marc Jacobs Style Eye-Con palettes ( 0.96 g or 0.03 oz), for example. That is a very good deal!
And now, let’s take a look at Cocoa Blend eyeshadows! There are ten eyeshadows as I mentioned above, so I have them photographed in amount of six per each photo, so two of the eyeshadows are photographed twice (Warm Notes and Freshly Toasted).
The left side of the palette is quite neutral, compared to the right side. We will start from the upper left corner.
The first shade is Bitter Start and it is a light creamy beige shade with slightly yellow undertones and a completely matte finish.
Sweeter End is a beautiful duo chrome shade that changes it’s color from light cool-toned lilac to golden peach with a satin finish.
Warm Notes is a very intensely pigmented cranberry shade with gold and pink shimmer and a strong metallic finish.
The second row on the photo above, from left to right:
Pure Ganache is a light golden shade with slightly orange-copper undertones and a metallic finish.
Substitute For Love is a gorgeous warm-toned light caramel shade with tiniest ever specks of shimmer that are barely visible even in direct light and an almost matte finish. Perfect crease shade.
Freshly Toasted is a deep rusty brown shade with reddish undertones and a completely matte finish.
The left column of eyeshadows on this photograph is already reviewed above (see Warm Notes and Freshly Toasted).
Subtle Blend is a rich coppery bronze shade with tons of golden shimmer and a very strong pearly sheen.
Bean Are White is a cool-toned dark brown shade with a completely matte finish.
Second row, from left to right as well:
Infusion is a blackened gray shade with slightly brown undertones and golden glitter. This one has a matte with glitter finish.
Delicate Acidity is a duo chrome shade that leans either taupe purple or medium-toned brown depending on the angle of light. It has a beautiful satiny pearl finish.
And swatches of each row separately. The upper row from left to right: Bitter Start, Sweeter End, Warm Notes, Subtle Blend and Beans Are White.
The lower row of eyeshadows from left to right: Pure Ganache, Substitute For Love, Freshly Toasted, Infusion and Delicate Acidity.
I also prepared a makeup look with this palette for you!
I used a combination of Substitute For Love and Freshly Toasted in the crease, than I put the Warm Notes shade all over the lid, used Beans Are White on the outer edge of the eye to smoke out the look a bit and placed a Sweeter End in the center of the eye for a subtle halo effect. I also added a black liner for more intensity.
I absolutely love this palette! I was sincerely surprised with how pigmented, creamy and bendable all (each and every one!!!) eyeshadows in this palette are! You barely have to dip you brush into the pan to pick up the color and shadows are not powdery at all. These eyeshadows transfer to the skin easily and stay put for the whole day with or without eyeshadow base, even though I prefer to use a primer with all of my eyeshadows.
It is an excellent palette in terms of quality, color selection and variety of finishes. It allows you to easily create numerous of looks that are office, day-time and party-appropriate. I haven’t yet seen such a versatile eyeshadow palette and I have completely fallen in love with it. This is one of my most favorite eyeshadow palettes and its quality is comparable to if not even better than of its luxury and high-end rivals. And it is a perfect eyeshadow palette for Fall. Totally recommend to get it! You will definitely like it!
Thank you very much for your attention.
Have an amazing day!
Hugs and kisses,
