Monthly Favorites: September 2015

I cannot believe that September is already over and we are now officially in October! The season of red leaves and Halloween, warm candles and hot chocolate is ahead of us and that is very exciting! I have to admit that this September was quite a busy month and I think I’m happy it’s already over. And to celebrate the beginning of October I have a few of September favorites for you today!

There is not too many favorites this time, but all of the makeup and beauty items I have for you today are the true gems! At least, I am really happy with all of the things I have to share with you today.

MAC Lipstick in Angel

The first one is definitely my new favorite nude-ish (although it is pink!) lipsticks from MAC. Gorgeous MAC Lipstick ($17.00) in Angel is an amazing lip colour for any season. I have been using it for a few weeks now and have completely fallen in love with it! The shade is a neutral light pink color with finely milled silvery shimmer that looks like a very subtle sheen on the lips. It goes well with any outfit and compliments any makeup look I do. So happy I finally got it! And I also got a full review and swatches for you.

Bath and Body Works Dark Kiss Fine Fragrance Mist

The next favorite of mine was quite a surprise. I am a fragrance girl and I rarely use fragrance mists or body sprays as these do not last on me long enough. When I first got the Bath and Body Works Dark Kiss Fragrance Mist ($14.00 for 8 fl oz/236 ml) I was surprised how much I liked the smell and how long this lasts on my skin! It literally stays on my skin and clothes for at least ten hours and that is pretty incredible for a fragrance mist. And, by the way, I love the scent! It is the best fragrance Bath and Body Works has ever created!

Bobbi Brown Long-Wear Cream Shadow Stick in Violet Plum

I have recently done a full review of seven gorgeous Bobbi Brown Long-Wearing Shadow Sticks ($29.00) and have been frequently using the Violet Plum shade. These sticks are very creamy and do not drag or pull the sensitive eyelid skin. I especially like using it to smoke out the lower lash line. And the color is pretty amazing – it is quite a rich plum shade with tons of pink and gold micro shimmer.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment in Light

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Erased Dark Circles Concealer + Trement ($9.99) has always been one of my makeup staples and overall most favorite concealer. I have finally got it in the shade Light (the previous one was the Brightener) and it matches my NW20/25 skin perfectly. Totally recommend it if you are looking for a light-weight yet creamy concealer that does not crease (if set with powder, of course!) and stays put for the whole day!

The Body Shop Fresh Sorbet Blush in Lychee Blossom
The Body Shop Fresh Sorbet Blush in Lychee Blossom

I have lately been very much into natural makeup and was pretty happy with The Body Shop Fresh Sorbet Blushes ($18.00) as these blushes give you the most natural flush and glow on your cheeks. It has a unique gel-like texture that acts like a tint on your cheeks and last forever. I have really been enjoying the lightest shade in the range – the Lychee Blossom that has the most beautiful neutral light pink color with silvery-pink shimmer that adds this gorgeous glow to your skin as it is lit from within. And I have already done a full review on all four blushes, so you might check it out if interested.

Nars Velvet Lip Liner in El Agua

I have another lip product for you today! I have always been looking for a muted pinky-purple lip pencil and, believe me, this is a hard one to find. Nars Velvet Lip Liner ($24.00) in El Agua is exactly what I wanted! It is a cool-toned medium dark pink with strong purple undertones that make it absolutely unique. Besides being of an amazing color this pencil is very creamy and glides on easily. I love using it all over lips (with a lip balm beneath) and it stays on my lips for quite long as it has a semi-matte finish that is a huge trend nowadays. You can see the swatches here.

Catrice Defining Blush in Sunrose Avenue

And finally, my final favorite for September is the Catrice Defining Blush (€3,49 or $3,85) in Sunrose Avenue. This blush has the most beautiful mauve-pink shade with a stunning silvery-pink sheen! It is more of a highlighting blush so you easily skip a highlighter with it. It is one of the best powder blushes in my collection – it has an amazing shade, applies easily and stays put for hours! All swatches are in my full review of this blush.

These are all of my favorite products that I really enjoyed using in September. Do you have any September makeup or beauty favorites? Share your answers in the comments down below – I would love to know!

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,

Dorothea

    1. Thank you so much! ❤ These new Body Shop blushes are quite liquidy and I've actually found the best way to use them – at least it works for me 🙂 Try a dense synthetic brush (Zoeva has the one I like, there is a link in the full review of the blushes) and build up the color steadily. It works just fine like that! 🙂
