Review of the Day: Benefit “How To Look The Best At Everything” Flawless Complexion Kit

I am huge fan of Benefit Cosmetics! I love their products for high quality, fun packing and for the whole idea behind the brand. Actually, I have always wanted to try come of their face products as I have been so happy with their blushes, highlighter and mascaras. I have recently spotted the cutest ever Benefit makeup kit filled with face products. Can you even imagine how excited I was!

Previously, I had a really good experience with the Benefit makeup kits as you get to try four-five (or even more!) Benefit products in mini-sizes that actually last you for quite some time! This allows you to try several products from the range and not to break the bank. This helps me a lot when it comes to choosing products and finding right shades. And the minis are perfect for traveling!

Benefit Cosmetics “How To Look The Best At Everything” Flawless Complexion Kit ($32.00) comes in a form of beautifully designed book with a huge mirror, instructions and actual products inside. Being a fair-skinned girl I went for the kit in shade Light. Besides Light, there is also Medium and Deep color kits available. In my experience, the Light kit will suite skin tones in-between NC/NW 20-35.

Now, let’s see what we have in this kit!

Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer

The first product (all products are numbered in the order of application) is the Benefit The POREfessional Face Primer ($31.00). The amount of mini-sized product you get is 7.5 ml or 0.25 fl oz. For reference, you can also get a mini-sized POREfessional primer in the amount of 0.25 fl oz at Sephora for $10.00. The standard tube for example, contains 0.75 fl oz, that is three times as much as you get with a mini.

This was the only product that wasn’t new for me in the kit. I already own a full-sized POREfessional and I am pretty happy with it. It is a very good silicone-based face primer that comes out skin-colored and is practically invisible on the skin once applied. On the swatch above you can see that the right part where the product is blended looks blurred, the skin texture is smooth and pores are erased. Love it!

The second product is the Benefit ‘Hello Flawless!’ Oxygen Wow Liquid Foundation ($36.00) in the shade I’m Pure 4 Sure, that it the lightest shade in the range. It full-sized foundation comes in 9 shades in total, up to very deep shades.  The mini-sized version has 7.0 ml or 0.23 fl oz of product compared to standard 30 ml or 1.0 fl oz that you get with a full-sized foundation. And the mini one is complete replica of the full-sized option – it even has a pump! Awesome!

The actual foundation inside is quite liquidy, though not runny. The lightest shade in the range is beige with strong yellow undertones and it also named Ivory. In reality is is a little bit yellower than I would prefer, but due to it’s texture and blendability, I can easily get away with it. It spreads evenly on the skin and blends in. I really like this foundation as it looks very realistic on the skin, very natural. It is lightweight and easy to apply with either beauty-blender or a stippling brush. I now consider purchasing the full-sized foundation when I run out of this one.

The third product you get is actually a plastic transparent box with TWO concealer shades! Benefit Boi-ing Industrial-Srrength Full Coverage Concealer ($20.00) comes in total five shades with two being in this kit. The lightest shade is 01 Light, that is supposed to be a perfect match for fair complexions. The second concealer is in the shade 02 Light/Medium and it is stated to be for medium complexions.

With this kit you get two concealers, each in the amount of 1.5 g or 0.05 oz. For example, with the full-sized jar you get 3 g or 0.1 oz. So, you actually get a full-sized product, but in two shades, that is quite generous. The full-sized concealer retails for $20.00! The plastic packaging closes quite safely so your concealers will stay fresh for quite a long time.

As for the shades, the lightest shade is the best match for my NW20/25 skin tone and the second shade is more of my tan shade. You can also get your own custom shade by mixing the two in desired proportions. It is a full coverage concealer – meaning it covers everything! But as a result it is quite heavy and I wouldn’t recommend using it to cover under-eye circles as it is too heavy for this delicate area. But it is a perfect concealer for any spots, blemishes or discoloration on the face. It covers everything perfectly well and stays put for ages if set with powder.

And finally, the forth product in the kit is the Benefit ‘Hello Flawless’ SPF 15 Powder Foundation ($34.00). It comes as a part of a cardboard packaging that is the only thing I don’t like about this kit. I absolutely love the powder and I wish it came in a separate packaging. Anyway, you get 4.0 g or 0.14 oz with this mini powder when with the full-sized product you get 7.0 g or 0.25 oz. You actually get more than a half of the full-sized powder.

This powder also comes with a powder brush, the exact one you get with a full-sized powder. It is quite a nice, fluffy and soft brush but I still prefer to apply this powder with my usual powder brushes. This might nevertheless be a good option on the go.

I think this is my favorite product from the kit! The powder shade is ‘I Love Me’ Ivory, that is the lightest shade in the range, with 9 shades in total. It is a perfect match for my NW20/25 skin tone and it blends in with the skin perfectly. It has quite a good coverage and is undetectable on the skin. I will definitely purchase this one in full size as it is one of the best face powders I’ve tried! Perfect!

This kit is a bargain! If you consider trying some of the benefit face product – I strongly recommend checking this kit out as all of the product inside are really, really good – in terms of price, size and the shade selection (you have two more kits to choose from). I liked every product in this kit and I got to try four amazing products – that is pretty great for a kit!

I hope this review was interesting and useful for you. Please, leave any questions, thoughts and ideas in the comments down below!

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,

Dorothea

  1. Oh that’s a shame the powder doesn’t come apart from the cardboard in a portable compact! I’m curious to try that powder now – I’m not really a fan of Benefit products, for some reason they don’t just work for me but I like the sounds of that powder. Great review and photos! 🙂
