Mini-Review: Nars Velvet Lip Liners in El Agua and Anse Soleil

I can very rarely see anyone talking about Nars lip liners. And believe, these lip liners deserve to be written about! Today I have two Nars Velvet Lip Liners to show you. I have recently picked them both up and have completely fallen in love with each of these liners!

NARS Velvet Long-wear Lip Liner  ($24.00) defines lips with precision pigment-rich color depth that perfectly frames, fills and prevents feathering. Smooth creamy formula glides on comfortably, stays sharp and lasts long in a range of 12 shades.

Both lip liners have more or less similar characteristics. As these lip liners are velvet they look quite matte on the lips (either as a liner or as a lipstick). They glide on smoothly and it is easy to fill in your lips and use them as a matte lipstick. Both lip liners stay on my lips for at least five to six hours, steadily fading away afterwards. They act perfectly as a lip liner and look very natural with the corresponding lip colors. And you also have a choice of 12 shades to match your favorite lipstick. Moreover, these pencils are mechanic and you only have to sharpen the refill with the sharpener that comes at the colored end of the pencil.

Nars Velvet Lip Liner in El Agua is a true beauty! It is officially described as ‘lavender rose’ but I have to say that it is more of a stormy pink color – cool-toned medium dark pink with purple undertones. It looks perfect on cool-toned complexions and will also be suitable for different skin tones. Additionally, Nars states that El Egua is an ideal match for Nars Audacious Lipstick in Dominique, if you have been looking for a matching lip pencil!

Nars Velvet Lip Liner in Anse Soleil is gorgeous as well. Nars states that it is a ‘coral pink’ and I completely agree with this description. It is a beautiful light coral shade with very strong pink undertones that makes it unique. Being a mix of warm and cool undertones this lip liner looks gorgeous on both warm and cool skin tones.

Both liners are creamy and it’s a pleasure to use them as a velvet lip color. Especially now when matte and velvet lips are a huge trend! I reach for these liners more and more often as they always manage to complement any makeup look I have!

If you haven’t yet tried Nars Velvet Lip Liners – I very much advise you to give them a try! Smooth and creamy, these lip liners look gorgeous on the lips and you have a good choice of very wearable yet unique shades that stay long on your lips, being comfortable.
