The autumn mood is steadily taking over, making me choose more calm, muted shades for everyday wear. Chanel Particuliere is the perfect suede-like shade for autumn. It feels so comfortable, cozy and gentle like your favorite cashmere sweater and knitted scarf.
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00) features classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies without streaking.
The Chanel Particuliere nail polish was created exclusively for the Chanel Spring Runway. It was a unique mixture of grey, beige and brown and instantly won over the hearts of millions of women all over the world. Even the history of its creation is unique. While mixing colors for nail polishes, Peter Philips (Chanel’s head of makeup) noticed an unusual taupe-grey-brown color combination and instantly fell in love with it. And so did we!
Chanel Particuliere is gray-ish brown creme with neutral undertones and a hit of taupe. It changes its color a lot depending on the lighting. In the day light it looks more beigey-taupe and in the dark it seems to be a very deep cool-toned brown. In the artificial lighting it leans more warm-toned. It reminds me a lot of coffee with milk! Or a gentle suede material.
It is a cream nail polish that evens out pretty well on its own but you will still have to apply two coats to reach even and opaque coverage. It is not the easiest one to apply, but it still goes on nice enough and looks good on the nails. It is actually quite glossy, but I do apply a top (and a base!) coat as usual.
It is not the most fast-drying nail polish out there and it usually takes me about fifteen minutes to have it completely dry, with a fast-drying top coat of course. The wear time is more or less average. On short nail it stays for a bout five or six days perfectly with nearly no tip wear.
As I said above, it was named Particuliere, that means special or particular in French. It has such a name for a reason as it was a special nail polish for its creator – Peter Philips. And it is very special indeed. A unique muted taupe-brown that looks appropriate for any occasion and any time of the year. But I especially like it for Autumn.
And it does look like a suede material, does’t it? This is one of my favorite Chanel nail polishes for how universal it is. I do recommend checking this out as it a member of permanent line (yay!). It has been a favorite of millions for a good reason and might actually become your new favorite nail polish as well!
