The most creative, fun and trendsetting drugstore brand ever – Essence – has recently launched a new limited-edition makeup collection called UrbaNICEd! You see what they did there? Jokes apart, I really loved a couple of items they released and have them reviewed for you today while the collection is still out there.
Essence UrbaNICEd Collection is inspired with the sports and street-style fashion and offers light pink and blue shades as the perfect contrast to grey and black.
Essence UrbaNICEd Blush (€2.99) in The Sunny Side Of The Street instantly caught my eye in the store. I was not actually planning to buy any makeup that day but I simply couldn’t resist getting this beauty!
It looks like a marble made of light pink and intense rose shades in a pan. It has a very nice and soft texture and comes in the amount of 8 g or 0.28 oz. It is also described as a ‘color splash powder blush in perfectly matched shades for a beautiful fresh look all day long‘. Based on my previous experience with Essence blushes, I think this will last on my skin for at least 8 hours.
Another gem in the UrbaNICEd collection is definitely the gorgeously designed highlighter. Pink-toned and bright – Essence UrbaNICEd Street Style Highlighter (€3.29) comes in a single shade – The Happy Direction. It has a beautiful 3D design inspired with the street-style graffiti. It is officially described as the ‘highlighter powder with light reflecting pigments for a beautifully brightened complexion‘.
As a blush above this highlighter also comes in a black plastic compact with transparent lid that allows you instantly detect the needed product. The amount of product you get is 9 g or 0.31 oz, that is quite a lot for a highlighter considering that you need the tiniest amount of it to show up on the skin.
Here I have both of product swatched for you. The blush (on the left side of the photo) is a nice light pink shade with neutral undertones and a beautiful rose sheen to it due to light pink highlighting areas on the blush surface. The highlighter (on the right side of the photo) is a very light silvery-pink shade with strong metallic finish. Both products look very refreshing on the face and blend pretty well. Due to very strong cool undertones of the highlighter it may not be a perfect choice for those with yellow and olive skin tones. The blush on the other side would look gorgeous on any skin tone due to how neutral it swatches.
Considering very affordable price tag and an amazing quality, both of the products are very much worth checking out if you like pinky highlighters and light pink blushes. As always, I love the design of Essence products and these two look very cute!
