Face primers have been in the main focus of makeup and beauty society for about a year now. Everyone has been looking for a perfect primer that does it all. Of course, everyone has their own preferences but there was one primer that basically everyones loves! That is the Too Faced Hangover Primer that was launched last summer.
Too Faced Hangover Primer ($32.00) hydrates, smoothes and brightens skin for a dewy, healthy looking finish.
As you know I have dry to combination skin in summer that tends to be on a drier side in winter. I struggle to find a good and reliable makeup primer that will not only be a good base for any makeup but will also hydrate and take care of my skin.
This primer promises a lot! According to the official website, it ‘is a revolutionary makeup primer infused with coconut water, probiotics and skin revivers that work together to boost skin’s radiance, promote elasticity and help hydrate while locking down makeup for fresher, longer and more flawless wear‘. Sounds very promising, doesn’t it?
With the Hangover Primer you get a sqeeze tube packaging with a pump and 40 ml or 1.35 fl. oz. amount of product that is 25% more that you usually get with other primers and foundations (these normally come in the amount of 30 ml). It is stated on the packaging that this primer was produced in Italy, has coconut water, electrolytes and probiotics and is silicone free.
First of all, I really like that it comes with a pump as it it allows you to get a precise amount of primer for your face. I usually need two to three pumps for my face. Then, the primer is supposed to be standing on it’s cap that makes all of the primer to get located near the pump so that you can get every last bit of the product.
Being a huge fan of coconut scent I cannot ignore how delicious this primer smells! Like a fresh coconut water! I personally really like it but if you do not like fragranced products this might not be for you. The primer has white color and a bit runny formula that helps it to get evenly spread all over the face. Looks like a face cream, to tell the truth.
And to my mind, acts a lot like a face cream. I think it is more of a nourishing primer rather than the one that will prolong the wear time of your makeup. On my dry skin it acts nicely as a makeup base. It hydrates my skin, plumps it even a bit and makes it look more fresh and radiant. It also goes well with my foundations and powders. But I don’t think it helps my makeup stay longer or more flawless than it normally looks.
I would advise you to get the Hangover primer if you’re looking for a hydrating primer as in this case it is really nice. It does the majority it promises: it hydrates your skin, makes it look more radiant and fresh. But being a primer I don’t think it can replace you face cream. So it is like an additional boost of hydration for your skin. And it is a good change for the majority of silicone-based primers that tend to clog pores and are not the best thing for your skin overall. If you are looking for hydration and want to take a good care of your skin this is a primer for consideration.
