Chanel Nail Polish: Alchimie

As autumn is finally here I decided to show one of the most autumn-like nail polish shades Chanel has ever released. Chanel is really good at creating unique shades that will make you happy anytime you look at your nails. This is exactly the case – Chanel Alchimie is an autumn beauty in a bottle.

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00) features classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies without streaking.

Chanel Alchimie was a part of the Chanel ‘Superstition’ Collection for Fall 2013 along with two other limited edition shades – Mysterious and Elixir. Being extremely popular Elixir was then added to the permanent line together with the darker Mysterious. Even though Alchimie is stated to be limited edition, you can still get it on the official website.

Chanel Alchimie is an incarnation of the very beginning of Autumn. It is a lot like the deepest part of the forest, where the moss grows. The actual shade is a olive khaki with strong golden undertone and multi-colored tiny shimmer that translates into metallic finish on the nails.

Even though it is a metallic nail polish and has a very distinctive metallic finish it does not go streaky or uneven. You have to apply two usual coats to rich full opacity and the overall application is quite easy. It goes well with base and top coat I use though it has a beautiful glossy finish on its own.

AS a metallic it dries quite quickly – in about five – ten minutes and significantly quicker with a top coat. It has an average wear time as it stays on my nails for at least four days without chipping and with minor tip wear.

This nail polish received an name of Alchimie as the collection was devoted to everything spiritual, mysterious and superstitious. And I think this color reflects the idea pretty well. It looks a lot like the weird and mysterious ingredients the medieval alchemist would use for his poisons.

It reminds me of a lot of the moss that grows on stones somewhere in Scotland. Such a unique color and a gem in my collection. I love this shade especially for September and October as it looks perfect in the transition season when everything changes its color.

If you love beautiful olive-green-khaki nail polish with a twist – I very much advise you to get it while it is still available. I can’t think of any close dupes and therefore this shade is quite unique. Let’s go mysterious this Autumn!

I hope this post was interesting and entertaining for you. Please leave your questions in the comments down below!

Have an amazing day!
