Fresh manicure is delightful, isn’t it? The sun shining through curtains is also delightful, don’t you think? And what is the most delightful thing out there? Golden jewelry or a chocolate bar? I bet Chanel creators kept all this stuff in mind when they created a purely delightful nail polish – Chanel nail polish in Delight.
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00) features classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies without streaking.
This gorgeous shade was released for Summer 2012 along with two other shades – Holiday (now permanent, reviewed here) and Island. Even though Holiday earned its place in the permanent collection, Delight remains a limited edition shade, unfortunately.
Chanel Delight nail polish is quite a beautiful nail color though it is not unique. The shade itself is a golden with strong bronze undertones and tons of light gold, copper and bronze shimmer. Such a mix of colors and shades make it appear more bronzy than golden with shimmer being pretty visible regardless of the lighting.
It has a very strong metallic finish that even feels tiny bit rough to touch. It applies easily but the first coat seems a little too sheer though it is surprisingly even. You will have to apply to coats to make it fully opaque. Due to its finish the final result is not that glossy as I prefer so I always use a top coat with it – it makes Delight shine!
What is absolutely remarkable about this particular nail polish is how quickly it dries! A minute or too and you are good to go! This is the nail polish I reach for if I have five minutes for manicure before I leave home.
This nail polish wear quite well in comparison with the majority of Chanel nail polishes. You can wear it for a bout a week with the tips wearing off the second or third day but it is not that visible because of how light and sparkling the shade is.
It is a beautiful bronzy-gold shade that compliments any makeup and outfit you have. I am pretty sure that there are nice dupes to it out there because the shade was quite popular for a couple of years and tons of brands tried to recreate it. If you know of any dupes – feel free to tell me in the comments.
This nail polish reminds me of the Ferrero Rocher chocolate sweets – a pure delight in a golden-bronze paper. Such a nice and sweet shade! What do you think?
