Last week I was at the Nars counter and was actually looking for one thing and somehow ended up buying three! Nars is like a magnet for a beauty lover cause everything looks gorgeous and is needed right here, right now. But do I really need another set of brown eyeshadows and a brown liner?
Yes-yes-yes! Of course I do because Nars is absolutely the best at creating amazing eyeshadows and the most long-wearing liners out there. I have chosen a marvelous Nars Duo Eyeshadow ($35.00) in Silk Road, a very interesting Nars Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner ($25.00) in Via De’Martelli and the only item I actually needed – Nars Eyeliner Stylo ($27.00) in Nuku Hiva. All are different shades of brown.
Nars Duo Eyeshadow ($35.00) in Silk Road is a permanent eyeshadow duo in the Nars line. It comes in a classic rubber packaging that opens easily and closes safely. Inside you find a full-sized mirror. The amount of product you get is 0.14 oz or 4 g for two eyeshadows inside.
According to the official description found on the Nars website, Silk Road is a combination of two shades: Icy pink and Rose gold with golden flecks. Both shades look very different in the pan but swatch somewhere close in color on the skin.
Left shade is the ‘Icy pink‘ that is actually a peachy color with shimmery finish. It blends wonderful on the skin and stays put on the eyeshadow base for the whole day. The right shade ‘Rose gold with golden flecks‘ is midtone peachy pink with large golden flakes that result in a moderate fall-out and the majority of flakes end up on your cheeks but there are still some of them being visible on the lid nevertheless.
Nars Larger Than Life Long-Wear Eyeliner ($25.00) in Via De’Martelli is a very long-wearing eyeliner that stays put on the waterline for ages! I keep buying these liners for how long-wearing these are.
This pencil is a twist-up and also have a sharpener on the other end.The application is quite smooth as the pencil is soft and doesn’t drag the sensitive skin.
The Via De’Martelli shade is described as chocolate but in reality it is muted dark brown with strong orangey-red undertone. This specific color looks gorgeous on those with brown eyes!
As I am the biggest fan of the eye liner I initially went for a liner and not for all those beauties mentioned above. The Nars Eyeliner Stylo ($27.00) in Nuku Hiva (and in three other shades available) comes in a form of a felt-tip liner.
The packaging it very thin and looks quite sleek and classy. It also has a colored bottom for you to instantly identify a color in your stash. The felt-tip applicator is very pointy and the liner distributes the color not only at the bottom part of the tip but at the point as well.
The color is medium-toned brown with strong orange undertone that makes it more orangey-brown than dark brown, but I personally like the shade a lot as it is not boring and ordinary. And by the way, this is the most long-wearing eyeliner ever!
For this makeup look I used all three makeup items with eyeliner along the top lashes and pencil at the bottom lashes. I used the darker eyeshadow from the duo to emphasize the crease and used the lighter shade on the lid to make the overall look more fresh and make the eyes look open.
I am more than happy with each makeup item I got from Nars. Nars manages to maintain the highest quality of their makeup and inspire us for interesting makeup looks!
