First Impression: L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss in Smoke Me Up (matte)

Mid-July I have written a post on the newest launch by L’Oreal – gorgeous L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Glosses that comes in a huge variety of shades, textures and finishes. I was impressed with the cream and dazzle glosses so much that I got the matte version of the gloss the next day.

L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss (£6.99 or $11.00) has the highest level of shine for a mega glossy look and no stickiness.

There is not much choice for the matte finishes in the line so I decided to go for a cool-toned deep berry gloss that should look good on my cool-toned NW20/NW35 skin tone. And I was right – it looks amazing!

All of the glosses despite the finishes have uniform packaging – a square tube made of transparent plastic with the brand name in silver on the lower part of the tube and a black plastic cap with the number and the gloss color name on top. This packaging looks very sleek and modern and the transparent tube allows you to immediately identify the shade.

Though it is supposed to be matte it doesn’t act like a matte gloss and does not get completely dry during the wear-time. To my mid it has more of a satin-matte finish – it is not glossy of course, but has some reflect to it that you can see on the photo above. Also, it doesn’t make your lips dry as it have some kind of oily texture that prevents your lips from drying when you wear this gloss. It stains your lips and you will have to get a waterproof makeup remover to completely get it off your lips.

This particular shade – Smoke Me Up –  is dark cool-toned berry that looks more like purple in shadow and leans fuchsia in day-light. The formula is pretty much hydrating that you will never expect from a matte liquid lipstick. But it will transfer to everything as it does not get dry so be cautious when you wear it. It is an ideal shade for cool-toned skin tones and it makes your teeth look white. It is a gorgeous pop of color especially for the upcoming autumn but keep in mind that it is not completely matte – more like matte-ish.

I hope this review was interesting and useful for you! Please leave any questions and thoughts in the comments down below.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,

Dorothea
