I absolutely love new launches in the drugstore as it always so exciting and different and fun. L’oreal has recently presented the new Infallible Mega Glosses that come in many gorgeous shades and interesting textures with various finishes. Is there anything more fun than having some new lip glosses?
L’Oreal Paris Infallible Mega Gloss (£6.99 or $11.00) has the highest level of shine for a mega glossy look and no stickiness.
The brand states that the formula of these lip glosses is enriched with hyaluronic acid to increase the level of hydration for the lips. These glosses also have shine color pigments that are supposed to leave your lips glossy and shiny.
This Mega Gloss has everything you can wish for in a great lip gloss. The classy packaging with sleek black cap and simply designed transparent tube looks quite luxurious and makes it easy to find the color you are looking for. The cap also has the number and the name of the gloss that you can always refer to when needed.
There are several types of lip glosses to choose from that vary not only in colors but in finishes. The line features creams, dazzles (with tons of glitter), neons (mainly translucent with a hint of color), mattes and in some countries you may also find ‘Xtreme’ (for even more glossiness and shine).
I was very curious about these lip glosses and I barely resisted getting every shade available. So I decided to start with one cream gloss in shade Protest Queen and two dazzles in shades Pink Party and Crystal Club. Each gloss has a very YSL-like lip-shaped applicator that is very comfortable to use both in terms of application and the amount of product it gets out of the tube.
L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss in 103 Protest Queen is the semi-opaque neutral light beige lip gloss with cream finish. The shade is very beautiful and it is a perfect nude for those with light skin tones, though it is not the lightest shade in the line.
It doesn’t look white on the lips rather looks natural and glossy as a good milky beige gloss should look like. The color is quite light but the gloss is semi-opaque and you could barely see the natural lip color underneath. The best part of this lip gloss as it doesn’t settle into lip lines and looks very descent during the wear-time that varies between three to four hours on me.
L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss in 213 Pink Party is a glittery medium pink lipgloss with a glossy and sparkling finish. This shade has a lot of shimmer in it that is visible on the lips and reminds me a lot of the MAC Dazzleglass lip glosses but not that extremely sparkling.
On lips it looks more shiny than glittery and the glitter particles are not visible and hard to feel on the lips. The wear time for dazzles is an hour longer than with creams. It is also quite hydrating and comfortable to wear. I personally love this shade as it has enough opacity to cover the natural lip color and to add enough shine and yet look very day-time appropriate.
L’Oreal Infallible Mega Gloss in 211 Crystal Club is another dazzle lip gloss form the line. It has a clear base with multicolored glitter in it – mainly gold, silver and pink. It looks beige in the tube but in reality it is quite trasluscent and adds a lot of glittery shine to the lips.
I like this shade as well but find it to perform the best a top for nude lipsticks. The wear time is exactly the same as with the previous dazzle gloss. It is also comfortable to wear but the amount of glitter in this gloss is somewhat excessive and you can feel some glitter particles on the lips but it doesn’t bother me at all.
Overall, I have to say that these glosses are pretty great! I love everything about them – the packaging, the variety of shades and finishes, the applications and the wear-time and quite an affordable price as well. These are as good as their high-end alternatives. Well done, L’Oreal!
