Chanel Nail Polish: Holiday

I am on holiday. Having a vacation at the Red Sea, enjoying deep blue waters, hot sun and sea wind with an orange cocktail in my hand – that is what Chanel Holiday nail polish is all about. Sun, happiness and lots of fun is the best description of this gorgeous color on my nails.

Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00) features classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies without streaking.

Chanel nail polish in Holday was released for Summer 2012 along with two limited edition nail polishes in Island and Delight. Some time later Holiday was added to the permanent collection and you can find it in stores and on Chanel website.

The shade is a pure bright orange color with no red undertones or shimmer. The texture is creamy with more of a jelly glossy finish. Even though it is very vibrant and eye-catching it doesn’t lean neon. Being that orange this nail polish looks good on different skin tones and seems to be more neutral than warm.

The application is quite easy and the formula is more on the liquidy side. Two coats of this nail polish will be more than enough to achieve full opacity and the polish evens out pretty well on its own leaving no streaks or bubbles. It dries quite fast and works perfectly well with any base and top coats. Its own finish is glossy enough not use a top coat though I usually use a top coat to prolong the wear time.

This particular nail polish stays on my nails for at least a week with no chipping. The tips wear off on the third or fourth day making it one of the best Chanel nail polishes up to date in terms of wear time.

It is such a happy and bright and fun shade! It is very summer appropriate and looks stunning on the nails, especially with a bit of a tan. Gorgeous on pedicure as well. I really like this shade for how vivid and eye-catching it is and I love to wear it on vocation. This nail polish justifies its name – it is a holiday in a bottle!
