Gentle and mauve – a perfect choice for both: a boring office day and a gorgeous wedding. A universally beautiful Chanel Violette is an old classics for modern times brought back by Chanel for a very limited amount of time.
Chanel Le Vernis Nail Colour ($27.00) features classic and trend-defining shades in an exclusive formula that strengthens and moisturizes nails as it delivers high-shine colour. Applies without streaking.
Chanel Violette is one of the first Chanel beauty creations with the number 73. It was re-promoted for a limited amount of time a couple of years ago and was exclusive to some of the Chanel boutiques in several countries all over the world.
Violette is a very gentle light mauve with strong lilac undertones and pearl finish. As all other pearls it is hard to apply this nail polish without streaks but the light color is somewhat forgiving and any streaks you might have won’t be that visible. This shade is quite neutral in tone and leans warm or cool depending on the light that makes it suitable for many different skintones.
The application is a bit troublesome and you have to be accurate and fast to apply this nail polish right even though not streak-free. This shade is quite sheer and you will have to apply two thick coats to reach the desired opacity. The finish is pearl and a bit muted and it requires a top coat for a glossy look.
The wear time on my nails is pretty average for Chanel nail polishes – about four days with tips wearing off the second day. Even though tips wear off quickly you won’t be able to see it right aways because of how light the color is.
This shade is a gorgeous universal nude that you can easily wear for any occasion and on a daily basis. I personally consider it to be a perfect bride nail polish as it is muted, gentle and pearly but still have very interesting eye-catching pinky-purple hue to it.
Chanel Violette was one of the first Chanel nail polishes launched and it was re-promoted a couple of years ago. I doubt that it is still possible to get hold of but if you get it you might really like it for the shade itself as it is somewhat unique and I haven’t seen that many pearls with a complex undertones as the Violette has.
