It is very rarely that I can say that I have finally found a makeup staple product, especially when it’s a foundation. Don’t know why but a foundation has to meet so many different criteria and requirements to become an irreplaceable makeup item for me that barely any has ever been good enough. But I’m honestly happy to present you the Guerlain Lingerie De Peau foundation – one of the greatest inventions by Gurlain up to date.
Guerlain Lingerie De Peau Invisible Skin Fusion Foundation ($63.00) is an invisible foundation that wears like a second skin.
This foundation comes in a glass transparent bottle with the black plastic cap featuring the Guerlain logo in gold on the top of the cap. Though the bottle is quite large and heavy the amount of product you get is pretty standard for a foundation – 30 ml or 1 fl oz. The foundation also has an SPF of 20 that is a plus for daily wear and it doesn’t have a visible white cast in photo. It also comes in ten shades from very light up to medium-dark.
The bottle comes with a pump that allows you to control the amount of product you use and for me it is sufficient to have about four or five pumps for the whole face and neck. But the amount of pumps you require depends on how intensely you want to apply the foundation and what coverage your prefer.
Though it is a liquid foundation the product itself is not that liquid and feels creamy and silky to touch. It has a very slight flowery scent that is very pleasant and doesn’t linger to the skin so you are not able to smell it after the foundation is applied. It blends very easily to even, seamless appearance, becomes absolutely invisible and undetectable on the skin. As you can see on the swatch the blended part looks exactly like skin but the surface is smoothed and evened out. I also love that this foundations has cool-toned and pink based shades that are absolutely perfect for my skin tone as these shades look natural and not that yellow as other foundations may look. The shade I own is the 01 Beige Pale – a perfect match for my NW20 skin.
It is the best foundation I’ve used up to date. The coverage is buildable from light to medium and it definitely covers pretty well. The finish is satin but not flat and looks very natural and life-like. You won’t be able to detect a foundation on the face in real life but the skin looks even and smooth and is so silky to touch that you wouldn’t believe it. Blushes, bronzers and contour applied over the foundation stay on for as long as you have this foundation on. It lasts on my dry skin for eight to ten hours perfectly and might fade a bit afterwards.
It is my makeup staple that I cannot imagine any special occasion or event without it. Wearing this foundation I feel confident that I look my best and that my foundation stays on flawless and perfect. I do recommend this product if you are looking for an invisible barely-there foundation for dry or dry-to-combination skin types. It might work beautifully on oil skin as well but I cannot comment on that. It is an amazing foundation and is worth its price. Every time I wear this foundation I receive tons of compliments on how gorgeous my skin looks and this says a lot.
