Too Faced Natural Eyes palette was the one that I featured in my Sephora Haul in the beginning of April. I posted my first impressions on it and started using it. And you know, this is the palette that deserves a full review!
Too Faced Natural Eyes ($36.00) Neutral Eyeshadow Collection is a palette of nine richly-pigmented shadows that pair perfectly and blend beautifully.
It is a medium sized palette packaged in a gorgeously designed tin with a small mirror. It also comes with the step-by-step guide on makeup you could do with or start with once you get this palette. It shows day, classic and fashion looks and the rest depends on your own fantasy.
This palette has nine shades three of which – the highlighting shades – are of a larger size. It also features three new shades – Nudie (matte), Cashmere Bunny (matte) and Chocolate Martini (glitter). All of the eyeshadows in the palette are silky smooth and have a very good color pay-off, especially on a base. All of the swatches are done on a Nars Smudge Proof Eyeshadow Base, that is my favorite.
The first column of shadows are the highlighting/crease shades that are of a much larger size. It is an ideal solution because the lighter shades often run out first.
Heaven (matte) is a light creamy yellow shade that works as a very nice brow bone highlighter on a fair and light skin tones.
Silk Teddy (shimmer) is an amazing light pink champagne color with metallic finish.
Nudie (matte) is a new addition to the palette and is a cool-toned light brown shade.
The second column features neutral medium-dark shades that look nice as all-over shadows and Cashmere Bunny also works as perfect crease color.
Cashmere Bunny (matte) – is two tones darker than the Nudie and is also a new shade in the palette. It is a cool-toned taupe brown shade.
Push-Up (shimmer) – is gorgeous darkened rose-gold shade with metallic finish.
Honey Pot (shimmer) – is a light gold shade with the same metallic finish as the Push-Up.
And finally the third column presents very dark shades, that are ideal for smoky eyes or could be used as a liner.
Sexspresso (matte) – is a cool-toned deep brown.
Erotica (glitter) – is an dark plum with finely milled gold glitter.
Chocolate Martini (glitter) – is the new shade in the range and is a warm-toned orange-based brown with gold glitter.
All of these shades do really work beautifully together and you could combine and mix them in your makeup the way you like. My favorites from this palette are the Silk Teddy, Cashmere Bunny, Push-Up and Erotica.
To do the eye makeup on the photo above I mixed Cashmere Bunny and Nudie as a creasy shade, then I applied Push-Up as an all-over shadow and placed a bit of Honey Pot directly on the center part of the lid to create the halo effect. Then I used the Silk Teddy in the inner conner of the eye and as a brow bone highlighter and the Erotica to intensify the outer edge of the eye. I finished the look with the Sexspresso applied wet as an eyeliner. On the lower lash line I applied only Honey Pot is order not to overdo the look. The wear time on the Nars base is the whole day till I take my makeup off. The mascara I used for this look is the duo form Urban Decay – Perversion mascara and Subversion primer.
Overall, the Too Faced Natural Eyes palette is a very worthy eyeshadow palette and is perfect for everyday makeup. This is the palette I would recommend if you are new to makeup as it is very easy to use and to experiment with different colors without the fear to overdo or to fail. It is also an ideal option for special occasions as it has amazing and flattering shades that will be gorgeous yet appropriate in any occasion. If you are looking for an everyday palette this is the one to check first. The shadows perform wonderfully and are silky smooth to touch.
