Question of the Day: what is your favorite lip balm?

There are several products in my makeup bag that I cannot imagine a day without. And one of these products is a lip balm because I can’t stand my lips being dry or chapped. It’s not only unattractive and unhealthy for your lips, it also deprives your of an opportunity to wear nice lipsticks, especially the popular mattes.

Despite the fact that I have already tried tons of different lip balms from high-end and drugstore brands I haven’t yet found my perfect lip balm. I have some favorites but the question is still open.

I really like the EOS lip balms, that I have done a review on, especially for underneath the lipsticks as these balms have perfect waxy texture that doesn’t nourish your lips but creates a smooth surface for a lipstick to glide on. And these balms are 99% natural that is awesome! By the way, who doesn’t like the delicious scents these balms have?

If I need more treatment for the lips I go for The Body Shop Vitamin E Lip Care SPF 15 that doesn’t have the nicest scent in the world but really helps with chapped lips. It hydrates my lips really well and I always have one with me on the go.

Besides these two I tend to use my Chanel Rouge Coco Baume Hydrating Conditioning Lip Balm, primarily in summer. This particular balm has a very light texture and doesn’t do much in terms of lip care. But it doesn’t feel greasy on the lips that is essential in hot weather for me. I also like the popular I love… Lip Balms, that come in a variety of scents and colors. These are a fun product to use and you get smoother lips as a bonus. It is an okay option for transition weather times like spring or autumn. And finally, I love the the Coca-Cola Lip Smacker that does a bit of everything for my lips. But what I like most is the fun scent and I keep repurchasing this balm for it.

As for lip care my current favorite lip balm is definitely The Body Shop one, but I am still looking for a better option. Any ideas? What are your must-haves? What can you suggest? Please leave your answers, thoughts, ideas and questions in the comments down below!

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,

  1. As a sample from a nutrition conference last year, I received a Soy Based lip balm that is AMAZING! I wish I could recall the brand! Aside from that, I make my own using organic bees wax and coconut oil 🙂

  2. Lip Balm is without a doubt my favourite lip product… I recently found a dupe of the EOS balms from W7 called The Lip Bomb and they are amazing… shall have to do until EOS is available here in Ireland *sob* Great post 🙂 Karen xo

  3. Ok this may sound strange but I swear it’s the best ever………. I love fun flavored balms but most of the time I find myself applying them right after I brush my teeth in the morning or at night and the mixture of that flavor with toothpaste is just nasty to me…….. so I love to use the EOS sweet mint ONLY for those two parts of the day. The rest of the day I use the lemon drop one from EOS or Carmex if I REALLY need some help!

    1. I can’t think of a better match for a toothpaste than minty EOS! 🙂 I also love the lemon drop, primarily because of SPF it has. I have never tried Carmex but the reviews seem so good.. Maybe I should give it a go 😀

      1. It’s really good……. BUT, it tastes gross and I nearly always get some in my mouth. That’s why I only use it if I haveeeee to which I know is a terrible intro to a product haha but it is good!!!

  4. hands down Aquaphor lip repair. I recently dealt with horrible chapped lips (winter months ..dec2014) to the point that the side of my lips cracked.. I tried everything including Abreva (i know is for cold sores but I was desperate) and nothing worked. Until I used Aquaphor… I honestly love this stuff.. It has no scent and is more Vaseline like but It really works for chapped lips…
