I believe that I could never get tired of the new Chanel collections as there is always something to wish for! Chanel keeps releasing new exciting products in some new and pretty unexpected shades for very conservative high end brands. These launches are usually followed by numerous other makeup collections that try to recreate the Chanel atmosphere. The Chanel signature move is to pay attention to a color or shade that everyone else is neglecting – and it’s usually a huge win with multiple makeup duplicates thereafter.
The most recent collection was named the Mediterranee as an ode to the beauty of the Mediterranean Sea and sea shore. The collection is abound with gorgeous deep marine shades, with unusually bright violets color and mild but alluring browns with a hint of gold. All these colors reflect the miraculous sunset as the Mediterranean Sea, that intensifies the brightness of the flowers in the light of the setting sunbeams piercing deep sea waters. All of the items in the collection evoke vacation feelings full of joy, dreams and expectations.
The star product of the ‘Mediterranee’ is definitely an amazing bronzer – Chanel Lumiere D’Ete Illuminating Powder ($65.00) that reproduces the flower associated the fashion house itself – a gentle Camelia blossom. It is a very natural golden-bronze powder intended to create a soft sun-kissed radiance on one’s complexion.
Eye products are presented with the limited edition Chanel Stylo Eyeshadow ($34.00) pencils in deep violet (Campanule), turquoise (Azulejo), brown (Caroube), khaki (Olivine) and rose-gold (Laurier Rose) shades and with the Chanel Stylo Yeux Waterproof ($32.00) eye pencil in Orchidee. This pencils resemble the main color of the collection’s theme and support the idea of the summer on the shore of the Mediterranean Sea.
As for the lip products there are several limited edition items for you to choose from: incredibly moisturizing sheer Chanel Rouge Coco Shine ($36.00) in Amorousa, beige high-shine lipstick, and deep darkened red Chanel Levres Scintillantes Lip gloss ($30.00) in Allegria.
The most exiting makeup items of the collection are the nail polishes. Every single year Chanel fans are eagerly waiting for the new limited edition nail polish shades. And you won’t be disappointed this year – meet amazing summer collection Chanel Le Vernis nail polishes ($27.00) in Terrana (gorgeous light brown with taupe undertone and subtle shimmer), Mediterranee (intense turquoise shade with strong blue undertones), Coquelicot (classic red with the visible coral hint to it) and Lavanda (deep cool-toned violet).
And finally there is the Chanel Soleil Tan De Chanel Sheer Illuminating Fluid ($48.00) in Sunkissed that is a part of the permanent line but that constantly receives the most of attention during summer time. That is a very beautiful illuminator that brightens the skin, evens out the skin tone and creates the most gorgeous sun-kissed glow.
I really like the color theme of the whole collection that represents the right balance between wearable nude and brown shades and fun bright colors for the upcoming summer. I am really looking forward to some of the makeup items from the collection that seem so appropriate for the late spring sunny days.
