This Sunday I posted the news about the most recent Clinique makeup launch – the new range of the ‘Pop Lip Colour + Primer’ lipsticks. I was so intrigued with the promo photos that I couldn’t wait to see these lipsticks and try them on as soon as possible. So, three days in a row I will be posting reviews about these lipstick along with swatches for you.
For the first part of the review I decided to go for the nudes as it seems to be the most popular shade to get from a brand when you first try a new lipstick. And I got two gorgeous colors for you here.
Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer ($18.00) in Nude pop is the light beige color on the pink base, that leans either warm or cool toned depending on the light. It has a very subtle micro-shimmer in the texture that translate into shiny finish on the lips with no visible glitter.
The lipstick has no scent (as advertised) and the bottom of the stick reflects the color inside correctly. This color wears perfectly for four to five hours with no fading. It is a very nice light, but not pale nude that will complement a lot of different skin tones.
As you may see on the swatch above the color leans more pink than beige and has very beautiful pearly sheen.
Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer ($18.00) in Bare Pop is very similar to the Nude pop, but these two are no dupes by all means. Bare pop is more reddish based darker nude with a little bit more shimmer in the texture, that results in a more metallic finish of the lipstick.
On the lips it looks more warm toned and deeper and will be a very appropriate nude color for medium-to-tan skin tones. The bottom part of the lipstick shows the color right with some glitter and you won’t be confused between those two if you have both.
I personally like this shade a lot as it is not a conventional nude, but a more muted and deeper reddish beige shade, that look stunning on the lips. This lipstick has the same wear time as the above mentioned Nude Pop.
Both lipsticks perform wonderfully on the lips. The application is very smooth and easy due to creamy texture that does not accentuate any imperfections on the lips and does not set into lines. Both lipsticks wear nicely and stay on lips for a significant amount of time and feel a lot like a balm but not a lipstick. Color pay-off is mostly opaque and true and the lipstick wears off steadily.
I must say that I am very impressed with the quality of the Clinique Pop Lip Colour + Primer lipsticks in terms of quality, application and wear time. The color range is quite extensive with sixteen lipsticks from nude to bright colors and practically everyone will be able to find a suitable shade or a fun color to one’s liking.
I have several more lipsticks to show so stay tuned for the Part 2. I hope this review was useful and entertaining for you. Please leave any questions in the comments down below and I will be happy to provide you with thorough answers.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Have an amazing day!
Hugs and kisses,
