This Sunday I posted the news about the most recent The Body Shop Honey Bronze collection for Summer 2015. The newest line extension really impressed me as here we have everything we need for hot summer days and beautiful beachy glow. I especially liked the never seen before gorgeous highlighting domes, that come in three shades, and for today I prepared the First Impressions review on two out of three products.
When I swatched these highlighting domes on my hand I immediately decided that I do really need them in my collection, because I do not own anything similar.
The Body Shop Honey Bronze Highlighting Dome (€10.00 or $12.00) is a highlighter for your cheeks with a sparkling sun effect. The light and creamy texture glides on the skin with a soft finish and delicious honey scent.
With these cute Honey Bronze domes the Body Shop promises us very light-weight and creamy texture combined with the natural iridescent effect and easy application. And I have to admit that everything in the description is true.
The product comes in a form of the dome placed in a very light plastic packaging in deep bronze-brown color with the transparent cap. The amount of cream product you get is 6,5 g or 0,22 oz, that is not that much but the amount of product you use each time is tiny so it seems like the product is going to last for quite some time.
The applications is quite easy too as you open the cap and you glide the dome on your cheeks or you use a brush to pick up some amount of product. Both ways of using it are easy and comfortable and depend on your own preferences. The texture is so creamy and silky soft to touch that it blends easily and you can get either sheer or more opaque color payoff.
The Body Shop Highlighting Dome 01 is a very beautiful champagne gold highlighter with a lot of tiny sparkles in the texture.
When applied on the skin it blends perfectly and as a result you get a very nice subtle highlight of a flattering champagne color with just a hint of gold.
I think this shade is very appropriate for everyday makeup and will look really nice on different skin tones from fair to medium-tan. The creamy texture allows you to build the color if needed and it sets to powder after several minutes.
The next one is The Body Shop Highlighting Dome 02 that is more of a blush than a highlighter. The shade is light peachy-pink with gold glitter.
This color suits different skin tones pretty well and looks beautiful in person. Reminds me a lot of the Nars Orgasm powder blush. Is has exactly the same application and blendability characteristics as the Dome 01. The intensity of color depends on how heavy you apply it.
Both colors have no streakiness and look very natural on the skin.
On this swatch I applied both of the highlighting domes – the Dome 02 as a blush and Dome 01 as a highlighter. You can see how gentle and natural it looks on the face.
I really liked both of the highlighting domes I got. The Dome 03 is a very deep bronze shade that is not suitable for my pale NW20 skin so I had to skip it. But it will be a gorgeous highlighter for deep skin tones or of you have a very dark tan. But overall these cute little domes are perfect for summer makeup and will be a very nice addition to your collection. Application is extremely easy and the texture is so bendable that everyone will be able to use this product with zero risk to overdo either highlighter or blush. I recommend checking these out as summer is approaching! You might really like it!
This product is already available in several European countries and and will be available in USA mid-May.
