MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder ($32.00) in Lightscapade, Essence Soo Glow! Cream To Powder Highlighter ($3.49) in 20 Bright Up Your Life, The Body Shop Lightening Touch Universal Radiance (£14.00 or $20.00), Revlon Highlighting Palette (£8.99 or $13.50) in Rose Glow, Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed ($38.00) in Opal, Benefit High Beam ($26.00), The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter, Shadow & Shimmer ($24.00)

Hello, gorgeous!

We have already spent the whole month together discussing the best products in different categories designed to create healthy, glowing makeup look. We started with gorgeous makeup bases that allow you to add this glow-from-within effect to your skin and that you can use underneath your foundation or powder. We took a look at amazing glowing foundations, that help you to add healthy and dewy appearance to your skin. Then we moved to beautiful highlighting concealers that help you to place your highlight in the right place. We didn’t forget about wonderful brightening powders created to enhance your skin’s natural radiance. And finally, we reached the point when we have to talk about actual highlighters, that we all love for beautiful luminous effects they can create on our skin – aren’t highlighters just awesome?

If you remember, I have already introduced you to the MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Powder ($32.00) in Lightscapade in the post about brightening powders. The reason I go back to this product is it’s amazing versatility.

If you use a fluffy powder brush and a light hand you will get a gorgeous highlighting finishing powder that will add some luminosity to your skin. But once you get a fan brush and layer to product on your cheekbones or a bridge of your nose you get a beautiful, subtle highlight that is so appropriate for day time. The product has multidimensional shimmer in it and is so finely milled, that the result is just a nice sheen of highlight without any visible particles of glitter on your face. You can find the comparison swatches of the highlighters in the end of the post.

Another product I would like to tell you about is one of my favorites featured in the Question of the day post but in a different color – Essence Soo Glow! Cream To Powder Highlighter ($3.49) in 20 Bright Up Your Life.

It’s a very worthy product at this price point and I’m very glad that the affordable brand was able to create such a beautiful, amazing highlighter as we all know that this kind of product is not widely present on the drugstore market. This particular color is more of the rose-silver glow with iridescent shimmer in it. I really like this highlighter because it has a very descent wear time along with gorgeous color. It also comes in a round plastic packaging that closes well enough and is actually quite nice.

I really like cool-toned highlighters and I couldn’t miss the The Body Shop Lightening Touch Universal Radiance (£14.00 or $20.00), that is a new addition to their highlighting concealers range.

The highlighter comes in a nice metallic tube with a brush that is very convenient on the go. The color is cool-tone light rose with silver glitter that is almost invisible on the skin being transformed into a beautiful sheen. A perfect product to add radiance to your brow bone, the bridge of the nose or cupid’s bow.

I have already done a full review on the next product we are going to talk about – Revlon Highlighting Palette (£8.99 or $13.50) in Rose Glow.

It is an amazing highlighter in it’s price range and it’s a drugstore dupe for the well-known Bobbi Brown shimmer bricks. With this product you get five rose-colored shades that all go well together. It has a very good color pay-off as an actual highlighter or blush or eyeshadows. You can also vary the intensity of the highlight with this palette as you can easily use only those sectors that you like because all of the stripes are big enough for your fan brush.

And there was no chance that I could miss the most ever raved highlighter in the world – Becca Shimmering Skin Perfecter Pressed ($38.00) in Opal.

It’s a gorgeous highlighter with extreme pay-off. The texture of the product is so finely milled that it feels like cream and easily transforms into an amazing sheen of highlight on your skin. Though, I consider the Opal color to be more of my summer highlight as it seems to be a little too dark for my NW20 skin. Nevertheless, I love this highlighter on my tan skin as it looks just unbelievable and blends so easily.

And now I would like to show you my first ever highlighter that still is one of my favorites – Benefit High Beam ($26.00).

It is a liquid highlighter that comes in glass jar with the brush in a cap. It is not as liquid as Nars Illuminators and is more of a creamy texture. This shade is so beautiful and reflecting and is more of a silvery white color with rose tint to it, that seems to be a perfect color for my pale NW20 skin. You can apply it in tiny dots on the areas you wan to highlight, then blend it out and as a result you get the perfect luminous skin.

And finally, there’s my current most favorite highlighter that I adore and use pretty much daily – The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter, Shadow & Shimmer ($24.00).

The packaging of this highlighter is extremely cute and it also contains a huge mirror, that is so useful when you travel. This shade is not quite unique among high-end highlighters and it is a golden champagne color. But what I love about this highlighter is how finely-milled the powder is! It is so creamy and bendable and it will definitely compliment any skin tone as it doesn’t lean to cool or warm tones at all. And it’s a perfect highlight for pale skin-tones as well if used moderately. But if you want an amazing visible highlighting effect – feel free to layer the product with you fan or highlighting brush and you will get amazing results!

  1. This post makes me think I’m totally justified in wanting/needing more than one highlighter. Especially all the Becca highlighters and the Mary-Lou Manizer!
