I have been a huge fan of Korean cosmetics for about a year now. Korean makeup and skincare brands keep steadily conquering the world offering their consumers the best quality of their products, cute packaging and interesting solutions. And one if the most famous Korean brands is Holika Holika – very girly, innovative company with tons of extraordinary products in all spheres of makeup. And today I would like to show you one of my absolute favorite waterproof eyeliners that make a very strong competition to all other brands that I have in terms of color intensity, longevity and application.
The full name of the eye pencils is Holika Holika Jewel-Light Waterproof Eyeliner ($9.00). All of the pencils perform wonderfully with gorgeous color pay-off in one stroke – you don’t have to apply much pressure to get an opaque color. The eyeliner stays in place for as long as you wear makeup, but you might need the waterproof makeup remover to get them off – and it will come off effortlessly. You can also see how intense the colors are on the swatches down below and the brand definitely has some cute colors to offer.
This eyeliner comes in 15 colors and being the biggest fan of the colored eyeliner I couldn’t resist getting the majority of them. As a result I own 11 eyeliners in the following colors: Chocolate Citrine (10), Light Brown Amber (11), 18K Gold (09), Pink Topaz (08), One Carat Diamond (07), Black Crystal (02), Navy Blue (03), Mystic Blue (14), Olive Jade (12), Black Plum (16) and Burgundy Garnet (15). You can see the swatches on the picture below and the color description from left to right:
The Chocolate Citrine (10) color is the only one without any sparkles or shimmer in it, it is completely matte and as a result the only one with the drier formula. Nevertheless, the color applies nicely, doesn’t drag the skin or feel uncomfortable. You can achieve full opacity in a couple of strokes and the color remains the same for the whole wear time. The color itself if cool toned dark brown.
The Light Brown Amber (11) is another brownish color of the bunch. It has a lot of visible golden sparkles in the consistency that makes it lean warm orangey brown as a result, more like the darkened bronze with gold shimmer in it.
The 18K Gold (09) pencil has a very bright yellow-toned gold color with gold shimmer. It is very warm toned and can usually compliment any warm-colored look. It is one of the most sparkly colors and goes well on the lower lash line.
The next one is Pink Topaz (08) and it’s a very beautiful peachy-pink color with silver glitter in it. It applies easily and fully opaque, and the glitter stays in place for the whole wear time.
The One Carat Diamond (07) is a white color with loads of silver sparkles, that makes it look more cool-toned and silver-ish. It is quite a nice color and can beautifully compliment lavender, purple or blue colored looks.
Then there is the Black Crystal (02) – it is the only pencil that has multicolored glitter in the consistency, but it comes out quite subtle, but still visible on the eyes. The color base is rich black, but the glitter in it is gold, green and silver, that makes the color look dimensional and sparkly.
The blue color is presented in the Navy Blue (03), that is deep, rich, grey-ish, almost darkened blue color with tons of silver and blue glitter that makes it look metallic on the eyes. The color is pretty neutral that doesn’t lean warm or cool tone.
The next one in the blue color family is Mystic Blue (14), that is blue-based turquoise color with no distinguishable glitter in it, but it has quite a metallic sheen to it. This pencil looks almost brilliant green on the eyes.
The next one is the Olive Jade (12) – a golden olive color with very finely milled gold glitter in its texture. It is one of the softest pencils of the line, applies beautifully and is absolutely opaque in a single stroke. It leans quite green and warm on the eyes and could be a perfect color for green eyes as well as brown.
One of my favorite colors is the Black Plum (16) which is a gorgeous darkened purple with beautiful metallic sheen. It goes well with both neutral and smoky eye looks and looks wonderful accompanied with the Pink Topaz on the lower lash line.
And finally there is the Burgundy Garnet (15) – an amazing deep burgundy color, that is quite a rare find among the eyeliners in both highend and drugstore brands. The color tone is neutral and has an eye-catching metallic sheen to it. It is a perfect match for brown eyes and could be quite an unusual choice for other eye-colors, especially blue ones. And this pencil is definitely the softest one of the line.
These are all the colors I have right now and I really do use them quite often as an eyeliner or to emphasize the waterline. All of them look very nice and interesting on the eyes either alone or with the full eye makeup. And you can definitely bring something new to your look with these eyeliners.
I love the color selection of Holika Holika and the quality of the pencils the brand provides. I also think about trying more of their products as I find these pencils quite unique among the waterproof eyeliners and very useful for daily looks.
What do you thinks about these eyeliners? Have you tried any of them? What color do you find most interesting?
If you have any questions – please leave them in the comments down below and I will be happy to answer them.
Thank you very much for your attention.
Have an amazing day!
Hugs and kisses,
