Review of the Day: Revlon Highlighting Palette

Revlon Highlighting Palette in Rose Glow

Hello, gorgeous!

Contouring and highlighting seems to be an obsession in the makeup industry today and every brand tries to present their own more or less unique product in this category. And it is a rare occasion when a budget friendly brand comes out with a wonderful product. Today I would like to present you the Revlon Highlighting Palette – an amazing multi-purpose highlighting product that deserves its place among all the high-end highlighters.

Striving to get to know the brand better and very much out of curiosity I got Revlon Highlighting Palette ($8.79) in Rose Glow. Honestly, I did’t place high hopes on it because up to date only high-end brands were known to produce good highlighters. But Revlon proved everyone wrong – this is one of the best highlighters I own and I reach for it more and more often.

First of all, this highlighter is very budget friendly and allows you to get both out of the line (there’s one in the golden color scheme) and not to break the bank. Secondly, this palette has a wonderful rose-gold color that has been constantly neglected by luxury brands so far. And in the third place, not only it has a very decent color payoff, it’s very much multi-purpose because you can easily use it as an eyeshadow palette because it has 5 beautiful colors that work extremely well together.

If you use it as a highlighter keep in mind that three shades out of five are shimmery, one shade is satin and only one is matte. It is wrong to expect this product to give you barely noticeable, subtle glow without any sparkles in it – because it is sparkly. And it’s one of the things that I really like about it! And by the way nevertheless it’s sparkly the highlighter doesn’t seem to accentuate any pores or fineness. You can use different sectors of the brick for a more silvery highlight (like a traditional highlighter) or for a more rosy glow. Or you can simply swirl you brush all over the colors to get the rose-gold sheen right over your blush. It’s up to you to choose how to use this product as a highlighter.

But the final result always seems very nice and quite refreshing, bringing color to your cheeks that it so important in the early spring. On the picture above, the palette is used as a traditional highlighter on the top of the cheek bones and also used all of the colors together over the blush to make it look more rosy and reflecting.

And finally, feel free to use the palette as your eyeshadows as it has five amazing and corresponding colors for a sparkly but at the same time gentle makeup look. You can see how beautiful these colors look when applied over the Nars Smudgeproof eyeshadow base. If you are not planning to do the whole eye makeup look with these colors you can always use some of the stripes as a brow bone highlighter or as some additional shine in the inner corner of your eyes to significantly brighten them up.

This product is very versatile and it’s only a question of your imagination how you can use it to enhance your complexion. This palette also makes a nice makeup product for beginners as it is really hard to overdo your makeup look with it.

So, if you have any questions about this awesome highlighter – leave them in the comments down below and I will be happy  to answer them.

Thank you very much for your attention.

Have an amazing day!

Hugs and kisses,
